I don't see it. Give an example of what you are talking about? It isn't going to impact his sneaker deal and I don't see a ton of endorsements for the C's outside of the trio, I guess Baby has that deal with Ace electric razors.

Texas is a big place and add to that Maggette would be a star they could market that they really haven't had.

I just don't think those Dunkin Donut deals are all that lucrative.

If I had to make a guess right now I would say that the Celts want to sign Posey to that 3 year 12 million dollar contract before they want Maggs for the full MLE. I believe Maggs corner with the article today saying he likes the Spurs offer is to tell the Celts that he really wants to play here and will take the MLE, but they need to act now and make a decision. His agent is posturing trying to get the Celts to play their hand because I believe Maggs wants to win a championship and knows he has a better chance here, but the Celts are shuffleing their feet wanting Posey for the shorter less expensive contract. Lets see who flinches first, Posey, Maggs, or the Celts.

I hope you are right, but I think that is wishful thinking. I think Maggs is going to end up in SA. I hope I'm wrong.

My bottom line on this is....

When PP and RA are healthy, Posey and Maggette may be a wash. If PP or RA are out, we are WAY better with Magette, and won't miss a beat. This is true for this upcoming season and every season afterwards.

Priority #1 - Get Maggette.

Big men don't sell anything. I don't know why but besides Shaq most big men struggle to get paid as pitch men and Duncan is classic in every way he is about as boring a personality as there is in sports. Manu is a foreign born flopper not exactly the image that sells pick ups, now Parker is pretty close and may do well I don't live there I can't tell you. While all great ball players just not endorsement magnets.

While I am sure that Maggette would like to see the C's profess their love he has made it clear he is going to wait out the cap space on 7/9 and that may take some time. Obviously there is GS and Smith in PHI though I don't see Maggette as a great fit with Igoudala, perhaps an alternative and then at that point ATL becomes a team with cap space if they let Smith go. If you are Boston and you have a standing offer to your own FA then there is no reason to make an offer to Maggette unless he is ready to sign it. If Boston is were he wants to go he knows what they can pay and it is just a matter of both sides deciding to do it or not.

tim duncan does advertisements for a texas-based grocery store (HEB). manu does ads for time warner. i know ive seen parker in ads, but i cant think of any off the top of my head (might be time warner also). as a side note, horry does ads for a local dry cleaners as well as a couple car dealerships.

actually, a lot of the spurs do ads with HEB:

If the Spur's want to sell car's maybe they should try to trade the Raptor's out of Bosh.

Anyway here is an interesting video, if Brand isn't having second thought's, Bill Plaschke sure makes a fool out of himself. Around the Horn's Bill Plaschke begs Elton Brand to stay a Clipper.

I believe if Brand don't sign with the Clipper's, the Clipper's almost have to sign Meggette.

The C's need to start looking at a plan C here if Posey and Maggs don't sign (likely). I think Ricky Davis has to be the plan C along with Darius Miles. I would also look into Kwame Brown's services.
