I would be happy with Kwame backing up Perk. Playing 15+ a game. I would also want to bring PJ Brown back.

Kwame Brown. The guy is 6'11, 270lb. He is a good low post player and defended well agianst Duncan a few years ago in the playoffs. He is also a good rebounder that can block shots. Brown is also still young but don't expect him to get any better. He would be a good role player playinng about 10-15 minutes a game.

The question is does Ainge feel Harrison, Randolph, Andersen, or someone else is better and is willing to come here for $1-2 million a year?

I think Kwame is better than both Harrison and Andersen. Those guys aren't #1 picks, so don't get the same rep as Kwame. Kwame has averaged 1.45 TOs for his career, Blount has averaged 1.57, an average boosted by his 3.08 TOs he had his last year in Boston: :nonono
Perk averaged 1.6TOs last year in 24.5 mpg, Brown averaged 1.61 TOs in 22.1 mpg in LA this year. Looking at the stats, he appears to be a turnover problem, but not really any worse than Perkins, especially when you consider that LA played at a faster pace. Brown isn't as good of a defender as Perkins but is more explosive on the offensive end. I'm not in any way crazy about having Brown on the Celtics, but if you gave me a choice between Brown, Harrison, and Andersen, I'd take Brown.

Brown is a complete train wreck on offense, but he is one of the better low post defenders available.

We would probably be yet another team hoping that the potential finally delivers, but hey, we had the Candy man around for a while so failed no.1 pick Centers aren't a new thing around here.

QFT

If Kwame Brown had been drafted later in the first round like Perkins or Harrison, he'd be rated much differently as a role-player and contributor.

you guys are way too hard on a kwame signing. he'll probably get more than we're willing to give him, but for cheap he'd be awesome. yeah, he's terrible offensively but we don't need him to be good offensively. he's a pretty good defensive player and he could easily fill the PJ brown role. not to mention he's a legit 6'11-7 footer and could play center if perk goes down easily.

if mihm was in any condition to play he'd be getting decent offers. he's not as he showcased in the finals and he's most likely done.

I think if Ainge wanted to sign Brown he could get him for the min for a year or two. He seems like its more about the situation than the money.

You guys do realize Mihm is still under contract to the Lakers next season right ? And as far as Kwame he don't block as many shot as his limited numbers may indicate. He's a good position defender, but has hand like stone.

Where do you guys get that from the media, cause I'd like to know when did we play at a "faster pace". We only averaged 108 points a game on the season. The media has over blown this offense thing badly.

kwame needs the right role, he needs to be a 8th or 9th man on a roster and needs to have strict orders to rebound defender, and attempt a fg only if he is open and will dunk. with that said, he could be valuable for most contenders.

Kwame as a player doesn't bother me, so long as we don't use any significant portion of the MLE.

It's Kwame in the lockerroom that concerns me. He seems to always have issues with teammates and/or coaching. When 'ubuntu' was your motto for a championship, I'm not sure Kwame fits that mold.

they're both stiffs. I might even bet that PJ brown would beat either in a game of one on one.

and on a side note... imagine Kwame Brown getting in Jordan's face during practice sessions and being all "Yeah? well you weren't a number one pick in the draft, were you Micheal?"

While we're on the topic of horrible players to become back-up centers, I have a better idea:

Michael "Yogi" Stewart.

He was a Celtic, he has a pulse, and he sucks. Perfect!
