Well, turns out you guys got your wish - Danny stuck to his guns and didn't match the offers of other teams. Danny gets a pass for now after last season, but it'll be interesting to see how he fills out the rest of the roster. The window with the big three is not huge and I personally didn't see the downside in signing the best free agent available to a fair contract.

As far as debating his value and worth in the future, that is one thing, but it is a bit sad to see some posters minimizing Posey's impact and value on last season in this thread. The man was huge, period. I'm sure there will be some players out there who will sign for below market value to team up with Boston's three, though. It's not the end of the world, but I do hope this move doesn't signify the return of Danny's Kiddie Corp aka The Youth Movement 2.0. The Celts won last season with vets, and so far they've lost PJ, Posey, and possibly House. I've got a feeling that replacing these guys with Gabe Pruitt, Patrick O'Bryant, and Bill Walker isn't quite going to yield the same results as last year, so there is still work to be done this offseason.

Nobody is down siding anything Posey did for this team. We just aren't paying for that many years of a guy that will be on the decline, you should just be happy for Posey that he got to use this organization for his security that he just got from NO. There are no hard feelings from him or to him as we will part on good tearms and always appreciate what he brought to this team and organization. The way this team struggled against athletic teams we need to get more athletic and we certainly will on the court. It will be up to our big stars to lead these younger guys just as they did with the younger guys last year, funny how when a team wins the type of energy you get out of the younger guys on the floor.
