Early in his career lue was known as a very good defender, remember his D on AI in the finals? I can't speak for the last couple of years, but Lue when he tries is a better defender then House, or at least was a few years ago, i dont know how much he has slowed, He is a better ball handler and better passer. He is more like a jauque vaughn type backup, not gonna score much, but will start the offense and wont turn over the ball. House on the other hand is good insurance if ray allen goes down and we need someone to put up at least a dozen points a game in his place, they have different attributes overall they are about equal value as players, given one or the other I would keep house becuase there will be a couple of games that he single handedly wins for us based on his shooting and last year his ball handeling only led to 1 loss that i can remember.

The only problem I have with Lue is that he can`t guard anyone taller than 6 feet. He can definitely score but defensively he is a huge risk. House is at least strong enough to hold his ground against bigger PG`s.

GuyClinch wrote:Lue might have PG skills - and I wouldn't hate if we signed him. But one thing I really appreciated about House is that he knew his limitations. He would quickly get the ball out of his hands to get the offense moving and would look to move without the ball and get it BACK to score. I really liked that and the offense flowed very well especially when some announcer said OMG Eddie isnt' a PG. Well he never tried to be. I tell you my guy Marcus Banks could learn alot from watching House. House embraced his scoring heritage and yet made it work in the team concept. And he would at times just PUNISH teams with his shooting..

its funny people always talk about intangibles for posey but wont bring them up when its house up for discussion. i just think house is a game-changer off the bench. he comes in hits a couple of shots anc completely changes the energy of the team on the floor. he hits that backbreaker 3 off the offensive rebound. he hustles, he gets the crowd riled up. and hes all about tam. hes everything youd want in a celtic. and great point about house never TRYING to be a pg. he just tried to be a ballplayer out there and was good at it. in fact i loved the chemistry he had on the floor with paul who played the de facto backup pg. and its funny people say that like it was a bad thing. that paul ran the offense when rondo was out. i trust paul running the offense more than any backup pg we could sign out there right now. in fact when he ran the offense it kept him involved in the flow of the offense.

We won't offer House more years, more money, or both. That's why House is gone. So I hope Lue comes to us, because he's the best option for 2.5th string (since Pruitt will get playing time next season).

I'll take Lue after comparing their stats, I didn't realize he was that good.

^^^ Don't be fooled by the stats - everyone knows House is going to shoot 3's and he still does pretty well. Lue tries to come in and play PG - and though he hits the same percentage he really isn't the same kinda player as House.

I like House for our team better - but I don't see how you do a long term deal for Eddie House.. Undersized Combo guards are often vagabonds in this league..

I agree with Pete and buckner...House's intangibles push him over the top of Lue...however, it all comes down to $$$ in the end so we shall see...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

House wants more $$$ and years. But it doesn't matter what he wants.

I'm very confident in saying both House or Lue aren't getting above vet min exceptions offers.

Lue was intrested in MIA because he thought he could get teh LLE, that ended quickly and Lue didn't even show up for the physical.

We will probuly have one of these two guys. Jason Willaims OTOH I have no idea what is going on, haven't heard and rumours and he should be able to fetch teh LLE... I mean he can still dribble it and pass it real well. Even though his shot might have left him that should be enough. Maybe not.

I don't have a problem with either Eddie or Lue or both for that matter. I just don't want Eddie back here as the #2 pg he is unable to do the job. Having a "pg" who can't handle the ball is like having a center that doesn't rebound. Can you possibly get away with it, sure, but why the hell should you?

When we brought Eddie in last season there were few if any options at back up pg, at this point in the offseason there are just flat our better options. Even at that I thought he would be a much better player with the ball in his hands than he is. 76% of Eddie's makes were assisted that is a higher percentage than Perk and KG. It isn't that it is a bad thing it just means he is a spot up shooter not someone who is creating his own shot.

I don't have a problem with bringing Eddie back and playing him at the 2, but it would be dumb to go into the season with him as the only backup to Rondo again.

So, if Lue is down to Suns and Celtics..

Apparently he's trying to sucker the Bucks into giving him a better deal. Per the wiretap.

A puzzling move, Bucks have the promising Ramon Sessions, the respectable Mo Williams, the capable Charlie Bell, and...I guess they no longer have Royal Ivey, but still. Its not like he's a young prospect, nor is it like he's going to bring extremely valuable experience to the Bucks.

Per the wiretap article, this comes as a double blow to the C's who lost Posey earlier in the day. LOL, we'll survive without Tyronn Lue IMO

Lue tells three teams (Heat,Suns, and Celtics, which happen to be my three favorite teams, Celtics of course my favorite team) that he will sign with them. Tells Heat he was certain he was going to sign with them then for whatever reason flies off without even taking a physical. Then tells Suns and Celtics he will sign with either one of them. Then signs with crappy mid of the line Bucks instead of two contending teams and the current championship winning team. Idiot. Greedy. This B.S. should not be allowed.

Maybe he never had the offers he (or his agent) claim they had...?
