The Wrong Miles, and a possibel way yto go.

Maybe Darius Miles is the wrong Miles. Instead, perhaps the Cs should make a run at CJ Miles, the 21 year-old swingman at Utah. He started to get some playing time last year and is a good scorer and excellent 3 point shooter. He can pass the ball OK too. He seems to have decent athletic ability and at 6-5 the length to play D at the 2 spot. The issue is that he may be a head case, though it is unclear whether it might just be immaturity. We could probably get him for a two year deal at $3.5 million each year with a team option for a third year. I suspect Utah would let him leave at those numbers, though I am not certain. Utah has Brewer and maybe others in front of Miles at the 2, and a huge payroll that may well grow with Williams and Boozer coming up for major paydays.

But Miles may be cancerous; I just don't know. I checked the Utah board and it seems like people who have seen him play are high on him. He could provide the outside shot we need off the bench.

For the other two spots I would sign either House using the LLE or Tony Allen; in either case a two-year deal with a team option for the third year. Then I would use the leftover money from the MLE to ink Chris Andersen to a two-year (with team option for the third). If not Andersen, some other serviceable veteran back-up big.

That kid would be my dream come true. I saw him play in Texas when I was visiting my family and he looked so smooth. I say we sign him, Royal Ivey and Elson, then call it a day

If we can land CJ Miles...

Maybe Darius makes sense for a min contract? Darius' game would seem to complement CJ's

But anyway, CJ is a SG/PG I believe. If we could get him, I'm for it, and then I think it would make sense to find a minimum level SF/PF like Linton Johnson or Darius Miles or Matt Barnes if he would be considered PF capable and would sign for the min.

There was a Celtics article on the wiretap today that mentioned CJ Miles as a potential acquisition. I think he'd be a great project to add to the roster, I like the idea of bringing in low-risk high-upside young players to fill out the bench.

Just watched a couple of summer league games that had a guy named CJ Miles on them. Made no impression at all.

CJ isn't playing in the summer league, he doesn't have a contract with any team yet. If we can sign him and Gomes, I'd be in heaven.

I assume you are referencing CJ Giles who is playing with Toronto's summer league team. He is a PF/C prospect out of Oregon State who is still quite raw. He did have four blocks the other day, though, so maybe he isn't who you are talking about, either.

I've only seen a little bit of CJ Miles but he seemed like he had a solid floor game with a very pretty stroke from distance. He's a bit thin though and I don't know what his defense is really like. Could you play him with Ray and have him defend the SF spot at times? That's the question because at 3.5 mil he needs to have some versatility... unless he can slide down to the PG spot... but then again I highly doubt he could guard PG's...

He just turned 21. He's supposed to be a little thin.

He's more of a PG than a SF. I believe he could probably guard the PG position better than the SF, but I'm not an expert on his game or anything.

I have seen him a few times in Utah and am not impressed. He is long and thin but I don`t see him as an upgrade. The guy hasn`t done anything in his career and you want to give him 3,5 mio per year? That is just crazy! He might get more than the minimum but at this point he isn`t worth much more than POB.
