Looking on Amazon for the new championship DVD (something that will not turn up in Australian stores) I also saw the Dynasty Series DVD Boxset and the 1986 Championship DVD Boxset. Does anyone own these? Are they worth getting? Having the games would be nice but what are the other features like?
Any information would be appreciated.

I have the dynasty one and it's great. Shows you the full games from every era. It give you an idea just how doimnant the celts were in the 50 and 60's.

I am also thinking about buying the dynasty series DVD but it isn`t exactly cheap. Especially with the shipping costs...

Dynasty box set is pretty cool, the 86 DVD has all 6 games from the 86 finals which is cool also

The Dynasty DVD box set is essential...really great. And yes, it is expensive, so do what I did...get it as a gift for Christmas
I have the 1981, 84, 86, and 87 season videos on VHS somewhere buried in my parent's basement...really cool, TOTALLY 80s, and with some classic moments like the "14 Johnsons" song (no, it's not what you think
)

It's still 17 to 11!!!!

That "14 Johnsons" song was awful. I don't care for the remainder of the DVD, but the games are worth the price alone. The good thing is that the games are in their entirety, and I know the Lakers DVD has a big portion removed.

I own both sets - I actually own two copies of the '86 DVD. And you're asking the wrong crowd whether or not they are worth having.. of course we're blinded by fandom...
When the 86' DVD's went on sale earlier this year, Robert Parish was signing copies in the Borders Bookstore near Downtown crossing... so I bought an extra copy.. figured I'd give it to a buddy or sell it or something.
Robert is a really great guy. His voice in person is totally amazing... the guy should be a singer or something. I shook his hand and also got a photo standing next to him.
The line for the signing was pitifully small... what a terrible turnout. It was an insult to the man who was such a great figure here in Boston. Maybe it was poor advertising or something, but I basically walked right up to the table because there was nobody there.

Fixed.
And you're right: the games on the Dynasty Series DVD are totally worth it. But the whole package is great--you can't go wrong.

I realise having the games is nice but I guess what I am asking is if the documentaries and features are any good. From what has been said so far they are definitely worth having?
