2 more gone, I have a feeling D.George might get signed.
The Clippers aren't done dealing. They signed Golden State forward Kelenna Azubuike (8.1 ppg, 3.4 rpg) to a three-year, $9.3 million offer sheet last week. The Warriors have until Friday to match the offer, but two NBA sources said they will not because they signed forward Maurice Evans, who split time between the Lakers and Orlando last season, to a three-year, $6.4 million deal. Riverside Press-Enterprise
Former Hawks swingman Josh Childress has signed with Olympiakos of Greece, a three-year, fully guaranteed contract worth far more than the $20 million initially believed to be his prize. Could there be a more stunning turns of events for fans who thought Childress was destined to remain in a Hawks’ uniform for at least the next four or five years? Atlanta Journal-Constitution

So the Warriors have in essence traded Pietrus for Evans, and Davis for Maggette.

^^^ Well, if you put it like that, yuke!
The Childress move really surprises me. I don't imagine Atlanta has the right to match but if he decides in three years to return to the U.S. will he still be a restricted free agent?
If Euro teams start competing with the NBA for talent I wonder how happy Stern will be that he brought the game globel.

Well, the European teams aren't exactly taking our top talent, so it's not such a big deal yet. Danny Ferry, who was the #2 overall pick chose to go to Europe because he didn't want to play for the Clippers, who drafted him. No one missed him then and no one will miss Childress now.
Also when you think about it, the players we are getting from Europe through globalization of basketball far outweigh the American players we lose to European teams. Would Stern rather have Dirk or Childress?

Re: OT: Mo Evans to GSW, Childress to Greece
Regarding Childress, there is a similar thing happening in hockey. It seems there is a lot of money coming out of Russia for Russian-owned teams to recruit players. The best players I think are always going to want to play against the best players, but a guy like Childress is likely to get lost. I think the primary issue though, is that players drafted from Europe are likely to make more money staying there, than to take the 1'st round Collective Bargaining Agreement mandated contracts in the NBA.
I had read that the Childress numbers for the Greece contract are after tax, and that the team would pay his tax portion for him. Pretty serious money for a backup in the NBA.
I understand Childress has opt-outs after each year from the Greece contract, and that the Hawks own his rights for 2 years.

The European game is getting better, and the Euro dollar is stronger. There will be some international competition for talent. Plus, Athens is a pretty cool city, I could see a philosophical young man like Josh digging it there.

Can`t wait to see Childress in Euroleague! This is great! A few more years and I will be able to watch Rondo play in Slovenia every week!

Forgive me for being ignorant, but how does European basketball league work? Does it work like the soccer leagues with Champions League, UEFA cup, etc.?

Yes. Euroleague is like Champions league. Uleb cup (they renamed it to Euro Cup this season) is like UEFA cup...The best teams from domestic leagues play in Euroleague, second tier teams in Uleb Cup and so on...
