I'm not sure how I feel about this. Darius Miles is a great, long-armed defender who can run the floor extremely well. No offense is the only problem though; unless the Celtics can work with him on his jump shot, we'd basically just be bringing back an older Gerald Green. Except he can't shoot. He's inconsistent, he's got a bad attitude, very apathetic player really. This was, however, the Darius Miles of two years ago on a lowly Portland Trail Blazers team. Perhaps being on a championship team like the Celtics will improve his mentality of the season ahead...that is, if he becomes a Celtic.
Defense helped us win the championship. It helped us embaress the Lakers in Game 6 of the 2008 NBA Finals. We could sign Michael Finley, sure, for a veteran's minumum 1-year contract, but that would leave offense and no defense in one player, and defense no offense in another. Is it enough to a player who plays solid defense and nothing else? Do we have a good enough scoring punch off the bench to risk singing a player like Miles?
