OT - Phil is making friends in LA

Post#1 » by aboubata » Fri Oct 3, 2008 9:08 pm

First it was about Lamar being the 6th man
Then it was about Lamar being a point and not in shape
Then it was about Bynum and being an All-Star
and Now it is about bynum averagine 20.

This guy loves his team and is always trying to encourage them.

you can't deny he's a great coach, probably top 5. id still take guys that make their teams achieve more than they're capable of over him though. I'm talking about guys like Larry Brown, Rick Adelman, Red Aurbach, the old Pat Riley and yes, Larry Bird.

I agree with you on Red, Pat and Larry Bird but for me Brown and Adelman have always worn out there time and their act gets old. But you have to remember Red and Pat probably had more talent to coach then the rest ever did.Phil on the other hand inherited two teams that were ready to win, but when he came back to the Lakers they were worst off then when he left. So this is really the first team in his career that he's actually mode into his own.

But as far as the training camp stuff your hearing, it's just him being him. Heck what coach isn't satisfied with his team right now or certain players for that matter.
