How do you want our Bench to look like?

Powe/miles
POB
TA
House/Pruitt
skywalker

I basically want scal out, and cassell + BBD to ride the bench
Giddens we don't know about his potential yet for his rookie season but I am sure he will be on the bench most of the time..?

We always only had a lust for davis, we gotta face it that he really isn't boston championship material
I am sure we all want scal to be the guy out within the next week...
Cassell it is past your time bro

Well we need to cut 1 player. That player should be Pruitt. Would be Scal, but he can be a trade bait later. Davis to a lesser extent, and then .... KG.

We should trade BBD for a second. Pruitt can play in this league, his defense was GREAT last night. He wont be cut if he keeps playin defense like he is.

I want Cassell in a suit being introduced as an assistant coach at the start of games. But as that doesn't seem likely, ideally Scal would be bought out, followed by Davis traded for a pick.

What drives my choices, is that I think that over the long term you want players at their prime or still playing at a high level, and you want players who are improving and can reasonably be expected to play at a high level in the future. Cutting players with upside in order to play players who are marginal and only have downside isn't viable in the long run.

I was pretty disappointed with Davis last night, apparently he hasn't improved his body. He seemed to me the same chubby feet shuffling player last night. He's got value and is an ok player, I just think he is easily replaceable, and there would be no point in signing him to anything more than a minimum contract given he is seemingly close to his ceiling. May as well just grab a pick for him now if it comes to it.

PG: House/Pruitt
SG:Tony/House
SF: Miles/Walker
PF:Powe/Miles
C:O'Bryant/Davis

Starters: Rondo, R.Allen, Pierce, Garnett, Perkins
Rotation: Powe, T.Allen, O'Bryant, Miles, House
3rd string: Cassell, Pruitt, Giddens, Walker, Davis

Wouldn't really care if Cassell was gone instead of Scal, because Scal would give the 3rd string a better balance.

Hard to get rid of Scal, I don't think management is ready to bite the bullet on that one. They have been trying to work him into the 3 point specialist vacuum left by Posey, but he doesn't seem to have the clutch ability. Guys I project to see on the inactive list at some point throughout the season will be

Scal
Cassell
Pruitt
Giddens
& Davis

One of those guys will of course be gone before the season starts. If Miles makes the team I expect him to be active for most games, because that means he is prepared to contribute right away. With guys we drafted like Pruitt, Giddens, and Davis we can try to develop them, but with Miles on a 1 year deal and a veteran, there is no time for that. I think that Giddens could spend some minutes in the D-league this year.

So our actual rotation will look something like
Rondo/House/TA
Ray/TA
Pierce/Walker/Miles
KG/Powe/Miles
Perkins/O'Bryant

With someone on the bench getting a DNP-CD. I hope Walker can develop an outside shot this year, because he's going to need it.

Based on the last night I agree with the OP's rotations. It looks like that would be the best. Everyone has a role on this team.

Patrick,Miles,Walker,Giddens,Pruitt all to some extent via age or inexperience probuly won't be ready for a full time role this year. So that gives reasons to have Baby,House,Tony Allen,Powe to take up the slack. Eventually one of the former may get some minutes from the latter.

In every regular season case though I see no need for Scalabrine or Cassell. Cassell however in teh special circumstances of the playoffs I see a possible need for an experienced PG as our 3rd string.

That said, I wish we could just keep everyone. If not then make a 2 for 1 trade. Or if necessary a Pruitt/Walker/Giddens for second rounder to round off the roster. Every player has a potential role on this team to much for just a flat out cut even if we could cut one of Walker,Giddens,Cassell,Pruitt and be fine... aside from Scal of course who has guaranteed money.

I would guess that Danny had a trade already agreed to when he signed Cassell but has to wait until someone's time hold is up. The Cassell signing is just too weird and DA was hot on Miles even before we signed him.
