Trade so we don't have to make a cut

Post#1 » by sox839 » Sat Oct 11, 2008 5:58 pm

I've been looking at teamsthat can make three for one and three for two trades. I figure if the C's make a trade it will be with a team in the west and a team that isn't very good. So the clips, twolves, thunder and memphis are candidates. so here is one of the trades they could possibly make if they don't want to cut and trytoget something and if they doc ut give scal his ring and a seat in the broadcast booth because an announcer for the team should be a former celtic not a guy who never wore celtic green at least scal did that unlike donny who they hired because of his new england connetions uconn .

Clips Get: Baby, pruitt and scal
Celts Get: Jason hart, steve novak and a swap of second round picks

Hart gives us a vet point if cassell breaks down or if house just doesn't backup well at the point. Novak also gves us an outside shooter off the bench a role that scal just never did fill. Looking at the bench house is the only backup that can shoot well from the outside so novak helps there.
Baby has potential but Powe is better and they are the same type player. Pruitt just a backup who isn't anything special, and scal an utter failure now but goodfor cap purposes. So not a great trade but it does help us in the depth area.

haha. hiphop that would be awesome trade, but I don't even think Chris Wallace pulls the trigger on that one. As a starter Warrick is pretty good, he averaged 17 and 7 last year over 30 games as a starter.

first trade is terrible.

warrick would be great. you think we could convince wallace that's it's better than what he got for gasol lol?

instead of trading anyone good, let's just cut scal.

Its gotta be scal, he looked absolutely awful last night, regardless of whatever doc says about his defense. Last I was literally saying to my friend who doesn't watch basketball "just watch the fat white guy" and he caught on quick how awful he is. he was even turning over on command for me, i said "now watch him turn it over" at the end of the game when he turned the ball over twice in back court in like five seconds.

they should just buy him out, he knows hes lucky to be making that much. offer him 4 mil and send him on his merry way. maybe tell him he has a job as an overseas coach/representative and get him the hell off this team and out of the country. He literally is a waste of a roster spot. I never thought that the value of the last roster spot would ever be this important, but as champs we command a deep roster and imo theres no room for scal anymore, too many cogs that bring much more to the table in this system. I'd rather have the potential of miles pruitt or giddens then everything scal has to offer on his best day

So why did you use your powers for evil on Scal? Why didnt you say " watch Scal do a 360 dunk!!!"

I did like his alley oop fake shot to Bill Walker for a dunk. That was awesome :D

Scal won't get cut because his contract is the only one that we can use at trade deadline.

Big Baby is the odd man out. With POB looking like he will take all backup minutes at center and Leon Powe and Miles clearly ahead of Baby in PF rotation, it looks like Big Baby will get cut.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Defense! Scals can play D. That involves moving his feet and keeping the guy in front of him. He is the worst player on the C's sine marty conlon or my screenname.

There is no way Big Baby gets cut.

If we do make a deal I'd want to see Scal + Davis shipped for a big man or swing man (Greg Buckner type). I have a feeling that Miles is gonna get cut unless we make a trade.

He is definitely one of the most entertaining characters on the team so I would love for him to get better. He put in a nice effort last night. If no trade materializes then 1 guy gets cut.

I have to admit that last night Miles looked like a defensive liability at times although he did have a nice block. If he is not NBA ready anymore due to injury he is obvious cut. However, if Miles doesn't get cut it comes down to Big Baby, Pruitt or Giddens.

Of those 4, 1 is gone and 2 along with Scal don't dress.

Scala is the guy who's not gonna add a thing-has no future hopes. Miles is still suspect, but at least he MIGHT bounce back and might have grown wiser. The cut will be Scala or Miles. G Davis may not be a + every game but he has talent to become something.

The best thing we can realistically get back for Scal now is peace of mind.

I just pulled up this thread, and my first thought: Jason Hart sucks. Big time. I'd almost rather bring Antoine back to run the point. I watched a few Jazz games early last season and Hart was just horrid.
