Predicitons for the season

Post#1 » by Spin Move » Sun Oct 26, 2008 12:21 am

Put em down here boys and girls, how do we do this season, list your prediction for total number of wins, and how far we make it in the playoffs.

I see 59 wins making it to the NBA finals, we are not quite as good as last year right now so until some of the bench steps up I can't predict a repeat. Still we are not that far off from last season so I predict us right near 60 games with the big 3 all getting All-star invites and Rondo meriting serious consideration, i think we make a small trade for a wing defender durring the season, lets hope I am wrong about the finals.

It is very hard to predict the final win count we were very close to actually winning 70 games beacause of how intense we played every game. I would love to see the same approach but I think we'll see the intensity for the big matchups for example the cavs on opening night, the lakers, the texas trio. ect. As for repeating I think we can do it but we do need to adress our bench or at least hope TA and House really steps up. At the end I can see us repeating basically the big 3 are still very hungry they understand that one ring is nice but it wont measure up to other Celtic greats/teams without more hardware nobody understands that more the Paul. I see both Paul and Rav having bigger scoring seasons from last year probably 21 for Ray and 23 for Paul. While KG will see his offensive output decline a bit but his impact will still be in effect.

i'm up for for over 60 wins and the 'chip.

A real team (most analysts said we wouldn't do anything until this season as we need time to connect)

vs

the champs, everyone wants their shot.

Eddie House wins the sixth man award.
The big three each adds one point to their averaging points higher than last year.
TAllen/Big Baby/Scalabrine traded before the deadlilne.
Ainge finally signs a player out of D-League.
PJ Brown returns after the trade deadline.
Signs a big name free agent after the buyout.
Powe becomes our starting center.
Pruitt makes the sophomore team.

i'm in the 61+ group, I wonder if the D will be so intense this year...I (for what it's worth) disagree with about every prediction made by greegriz...TA traded?, Powe starting center?
I think POB will develop this year into a rotation center, maybe see Leon as a good PF, where his jumping and overall size won't hinder his play.

I went 61-64. The two reasons for the decline from last season in my prediction are the improvement of the East - there are fewer bunny games likely this year, and the likely pains of playing a lot of inexperienced players for the overall good of the team. I think we'll see a lot of POB, Pruitt, Walker, the benefit of that playing time being playoff contributions at the expense of regular season record.

45-49. Media calls us the letdown of the season. THEN BAM!!! Playoffs come and we dominate. Shock everone on how good we played.

If you have 3 all-stars and one other player who merits consideration, I don't see how they can win only 59 games. I think 63 wins is realistic, and the Lakers defeat Boston in 7 for the Championship. A classic series that comes down to the last shot.

If healthy we win 61 to 64, if not, 50 to 54.
