I think I know what happened to the game thread, people actually enjoy watching the game. I DVR that **** and don't miss an inbounds as opposed to crushing shots of Jack wondering when that fairy ass Blount would be off my team.

But on another note that doesn't belong here but has to be said Kareem Abdul Bynum is 1 for 6 and Greg Hakeem Odenawon is already friggin hurt.

.............10 pages, opening day, rings given out? wft......

Most posters are haters - and haters love a loser. Hence this is how it's always been with the Cs.. If the C's lost it would have been I TOLD YOU WE SHOULDN'T HAVE TRADED SO and SO. Or Paul Pierce is a slug.. I mean come on the PP hater was the most prolific poster in RealGM history...(or at least it seemed like it).

Awesome game to kick off the season. Leon Powe is now my 2nd Favorite young player on the C's behind Rondo! That Poster on D-West made me jump out of my seat roaring like a grizzly bear hungry for blood!

PP looked great tonight....

Overall, a good recovery after an iffy start. But I thought PP was the only guy on the floor for us worthy of being singled out positively or negatively.

Pretty ugly game, but hey a win is a win. I figured the team would start off slow and it really did.

I really liked what I saw from three players.

Paul Pierce kept the Celtics in the game early. His shot was not falling, so he took it to the hoop. He looks like he's in great shape and he had a very good game for the team last night.

Rajon Rondo played within himself. High energy and I thought he led the offense well. He is however going to kill himself this season if he keeps taking the ball to the hoop "with no regard to human life".

Leon Powe is the third player I was impressed with last night. Leon is a bull and he always brings energy off the bench. He came right into the game and got an and 1.

My three middle of the pack stars.

Tony Allen very ugly first half. I love his willingness to attack the basket, but he's got to stay under control. In the second half continued to be aggressive, but this time played within himself. Plus brought solid defense.

Kendrick Perkins is number two in this category for me. I love his toughness and I thought he played solid defense. Plus was real good on the offensive glass. The problem as always with Perk is his inability to stay out of foul trouble. And the real problem with that is not the foul trouble, but the cheap fouls he picks up.

Number three is Glen Davis. Another energy guy off the bench. I thought he did a solid job on the defense side of the ball.

Now my three bottom of the barrel players.

Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen are both in this group. I didn't see the energy I expected from them. Really surprised not to see it from KG. Ugly numbers from both. I'll just write this off to ring night.

And the last player is Eddie House. He is useless if his shot is not falling. He's terrible when he's facing pressure. And while he'll give energy on the defensive side of the ball he's just not that great at playing defense. If this continues the team will have to go to Pruitt or sadly Sam I am.

Darth:

Misery loves comapany.

I liked Powe's game. First off the bench and he did damage. He changed the game to the Celtics favor.

I was a bit surprised by Pierce's tears of joy. No doubt about it, he's a true Celtic. Drafted 10th. Stabbed and practiced 3 days later. Last season and especially his defense and rocky return. Leading the league in oral surgery until Perk stood up for him.

I guess I shouldn't have been surprised. I am so happy for him.

We had 73 page game threads when we lost 50 games.

U think if cleveland went to the state board and were renamed Lebron. And the cavs just did what it should be and renamed the cavs to James. It would be the boston celtics against the lebron james's? Might as well.

Every time we watch a cavs c's game, it's all about LeBron, Lebron, Lebron......(10 seconds of talk about the celtics team) LEBRON JAMES FOR THE.....loss? so, then they still talk about Lebron.....About how he lost, not how the cavs lost. And the celtics won, not pierce, or allen, or KG.

Teams win. Lebron will not be a cav in 2010.

I absolutely agree on all points. This pissed me off in the playoffs, too...when the C's or any other team did something, it was "eh" from the announcers, but when LeBron did it "NO REGARD FOR HUMAN LIFE OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!"""""

Let's face it, as supremely talented as he is, there is something not quite likeable about him, and he *is* a loser until he actually wins something...

Yeah definitely worried about getting hurt. I loved his aggressiveness, and he looked way more confident on all of his layup. To be fair Wallace and Mo Williams were making just not quite borderline dirty plays on him. I take that back. I thought Mo williams was pretty dirty out there

He sure was. I expect that from the Cavs, though.

Rondo needs to learn, just like he needed to learn in the playoffs, when to lay it in and when to go in for the dunk!

Wow overall a great game. I attribute the bad first half to our shots not falling in the first quarter. Ray and KG were off and so was Pierce shooting wise in the first. At least a few more of those should have fell.

Ray seemed to be as involved and contribute as much as an average bench player this game. Doesn't look like we'll see an increase in him if this game was any indication of the future and a repeate of last year.

Pierce went loco on their asses

We don't have a great bench but between Powe,House,Tony Allen.. our bench can make some contributions. Even against the "starters" bench of CLE.

Doc did what was just and played the "vets" and those who played to give the Celtics that ring last night. Hopefully in the future one of Pruitt or O'Bryant can get into the rotation [I only think Patrick has a legit shot].

Great game overall, scary but then fantastic to see us pull it out in the second half. We have so many offensive minded players in our rotation [House,Powe,TA,Pierce,Ray,KG]

I'm surprised nobody's brought it up yet, but I thought it was great (and totally in-character) for Pollard to get his ring for his middle finger. When he was "modeling" the ring I was holding out hope for a one-finger salute, but alas...

I still can't believe a guy like Pollard or Scal got a ring...they were basically useless the last half of the season and all of the playoffs...

Talk about right place right time...
