Well I think I just got the coolest thing ever boys and girls.
This thing does it all. Scan barcodes and compare prices for that item, doubles as a bubble level lol, youtube, a full on web browser that works! And that's just crackin the surface.
I highly suggest you go get this if you're gonna be in the market for a phone anytime soon.

I just looked at it too and I was mightily impressed. Until the salesgirl confessed that she had one for two days and gave it back because the battery wouldn't last for a full day. I'm holding out for the next gen of android phones. Or maybe a blackberry storm.

i think itll be a while before the androids fulfill their potential, but the promise is there

hard to beat blackberries, but they have their flaws and some people want a more media based device

How does the web browser work using multiple windows? Flash? How about copy and paste functionality between programs, etcetera

I'm actually a fan of Windows Mobile. WM devices are kinda like CPUs in that people get frustrated because they can't always do what they need if their device doesn't have enough RAM, and to truly get the most out of a device you need to manually tweak the registry and memory allocation and download the right programs and all that. But if you're willing to bother with that, Windows Mobile gives the most possbilities and is the most powerful platform if you choose the right device.

I am broke right now, but that is a fricken sweet Pocket PC. Its got somethin like 288 MB of RAM too. Plus Sprint and Verizon have the fasted data speeds, and if you're on Sprint you're only paying $15/mo for unlimited data. If you have it on Verizon, you're paying an extra $25/mo for the data plan and more for text messaging for a better image and better customer service.

Ive had it running smoothly on 3 windows.
havent even really took advantage of the copy/paste function yet, and i dont foresee that much use for it. for me atleast.
no flash as of yet, in the works like a bunch of other stuff.
outside of the flash thing its responded well for everything I've thrown at it.

True, The problem with the HTC and many PDA devices are poor Phone Reception/Sound Quality. I am a verizon manger and I use the Blackberry Curve. Blackberrys, for CDMA service at the very least, are the best for that. The only complaint I have is the lack of flash compatibility.

I like my Iphone. Very easy to manage, considering I have a Mac. Plus, AT&T service is much better than Verizon, or any other for that matter, where I live, which was the determining factor.

So I've been waiting for my Verizon contract to run out in February and was planning on switching to AT&T for the iPhone. Now that I have seen the spec sheet from the Blackberry Storm, I'm definiltely waiting for that. It has most of the functionality of the iPhone but some cool new features as well like the tactile touch screen. If only they could actually release it before Xmas.

Verizon has a long history of crippling any phone they get a hold of with their own crappy software or just limiting features. Other companies have actually made good phones only to have them wither and die on Verizon networks.

The reality is a lot of people are cheap and Verizon is always worried about phone cost when a manufacturer proposes a phone. They would rather take out or lower a feature on a proposed phone so they can have a competitive price point on it.

I won't disagree with limiting feature though. They want you to buy all your games, ringtones and apps from verizon. They do their best to make you do that on any non pda/blackberry device. But, Thats just smart business.

The Storm should be awesome though. Because its a blackberry you can customize your phone with all kinds of third party games, ringtones and applications. The internet browsing experience is very close to the iphone and the iphone has the best browsing experience on any cell phone currently. Plus, You will have the best email device on the market.

But anyways, Verizon still adds boatloads of customers every quarter without a phone like the iphone to rest our laurels on. Hopefully, The storm can be that for us.
