PP's shot looks off

Post#1 » by Red2 » Mon Nov 10, 2008 5:17 pm

paul obviously did not have a good game yesterday. 3 for 10 with a bunch of turnovers and for the second game in a row his defense did not look good. tayshaun scored most of his points when Pierce was guarding him and several times he failed to get back on D. I'm not worried about Pierce bouncing back and in fact I think he will have a good game tonight. the one thing I've noticed though is he seems to be guiding the ball instead of shooting it. He started doing this exaggerated follow through on his shots last year in the playoffs and it has continued this year. His release doesn't look smooth and it looks like he is thinking about the shot instead of just letting it go. anyhow that's what I see. I think he let the fouls get to him yesterday because he never got into the flow of the game. But if we can beat them the way we did with our best player only scoring 8 points well I can't wait until we're clicking on all cylinders

Paul sprained his hand. Can't remember which game, but I think it was in game 2. He'll be fine.

I'm not worried about PP's shot in the least. I've said it in a few other threads, athleticism/demeanor wise he looks better than I can remember seeing him in a long time. He's playing faster and with quicker reaction times than I can remember observing anytime recently. I think he's just going through an adjustment period where he's getting used to his new (aka old) self, and I have also read somewhere here that his shooting hand is sprained. I have a feeling that once he evntually gets in a zone, he'll be in a hell of a zone

Defensively they were trying to bait Tayshaun into that shot as opposed to having problems with him slashing to the basket. The C's looked to force the Pistons to make jumpers and packed the lane to stop Iverson and Prince from getting to the hoop. The irony is that Prince made his jumpers and Rip and Sheed failed fantastically.

I think Paul looks great, especially on the glass and finding the open man. That said the FG% is in the tank. Ironically his 3's seem on point it is going to the hole that seems to be hurting him. He isn't getting the calls FTA are down more than one a game while FGA are up almost 2.

The bench has also been so effective with his presence that his scoring hasn't necessarily been needed. I wouldn't worry about Paul he will be there when we need him lets just enjoy not needing him.

I think after last night's 4th quarter, it's safe to say that Paul is ok

The old Paulie is back. It's nice to see the guy back in shape and motivated. I'll recant my statement from another thread saying P2 can't win the MVP due to lack of scoring. I know he won't sustain 30+ PPG, but if he gets back to around 25 he might just win the MVP. It will be hard though with LBJ putting up 30 8 reb 7 assists and nearly 2 stl/blk per game.

As long as Pierce plays within the team framework like he did all last season and this season so far, taking over when necessary but not returning to pre-2007 one-man-team domination, I will be very happy.

And his hand looked OK last night, huh? :D
It's still 17 to 11!!!!
