Thank You Denver!
We needed that. Seriously.
We're a great team and we can win the whole thing again next year, but we really have not been playing well. Our 8-1 record was deceptive, and I do know how crazy that sounds on the sufrace. Anyone who follows this team closely knows that we are better than what has been on the floor, but that the team has been getting by on late game heroics, luck, and being satisfied at paying just well enough to beat the other team (as opposed to playing the best ball possible).
My hope is that losing at home like that will be a wake up call for coaches and players alike. I for one think that if we're going to play close games with inferior teams at home, we should at least throw some new talent on the floor and see if it sticks. Pruitt can't be worse than House has been . . . O'Bryant can't be worse than Davis/Powe . . . heck, if Dahntay Jones can start for Denver, then Bill Walker can get 10 minutes for us. We probably still barely beat Atlanta and we probably still lose to Denver, but at least we're checking some things out.
Let's learn something from this loss that we maybe didn't learn from some of our suspect wins.

Definitely agree with this. Our record should be 6-4 and not 8-2. We have been playing very poorly in majority of games and have been bailed out by an unbelievable Pierce and luck.
I am extremely worried about our current form.

I'd be angry with Denver for giving AI to the Pistons. Now they are going to win the Eastern Conference and probably the title.
Did anyone watch the DET-LAL game? Yikes.

I never knew it was a good thing when we lost.

Re: Thank You Denver!
I seriously don't think this team needed a wake-up call. They know what the are capable of and what they are not doing, etc.... The reason they lost last night was their bench did not produce. Will that happen every night, probably not. Also, their defense seemed to come and go. It was great to get them back in the game, but once they had the lead, they lost their defensive intensity and ran out of time. It is playing 48 minutes of ball, not 36 or 40, blah, blah, blah. They'll be fine. As far as a loss being a good thing? Maybe for fans, but not players or coaches. I used to play and now I am a high school coach in soccer and basketball and I can never remember a loss being a good thing.

I'll give the C's a break here because they've had a tough schedule. I thought the champs were supposed to get the easiest schedule.

Basically if the starters don't play well the bench plays well. If the starters play well the bench doesn't. I can't recall even one game yet where both have dominated at the same time, but it's still early so I'm not worried.

I'm still amaze how Doc would not or refuse to play POB, Walker and Pruitt when Powe, Davis and House are not playing well. Walker could've scored at least 10 points and POB could've have blocked more shots last night than Perkins. I have a feeling Doc is playing Davis to boost up his value comes trading time.

Re: Thank You Denver!
The idea of a wake up call is extremely overrated.
This. We're tied with Memphis, Sacramento, and Milwaukee (3-7, 4-6, and 5-5 respectively) for most games played this year and the Denver game was our 7th game in 11 days, with travel to Houston, OKC, Detroit, and we have a game in Milwaukee tonight (8th game in 12 days). The Thunder was really the only easy game over that stretch (Milwaukee's shown to be at least an average team this year). This team doesn't need a wake up call, it needs a break.

Welcome back cfan79.
Right now our offense sucks and our bench is weak sauce.
This current team IMO does not have a chance at a title. Too many teams have improved and we have not. Rondo, TA, House, Powe and Davis have been disappointing.

Re: Thank You Denver!
I almost don't even like this years team, loved last years (and not just for obvious reasons). There's something I just don't like about the 08-09 squad, anyone else feel this way as well?

Thanks, but I have to disagree with you about the C's. I think we'll play better in the playoffs this season then we did last year. We just might need a small trade or signing before then to shore up the backup small forward position.

Our schedule has been the toughest, but we can play through that. our bench hasn't been showing up. That's why we need to explore our bench or try to get that back up sf.

It should be a wake-up call...to management.
Outside of the Big 3, this team stinks.
Get us some players.

^This. Our schedule has been BRUTAL so far...I'm *glad* we're 9-2.
It's still 17 to 11!!!!
