Weak suspension IMO but it's not a big deal for the Celtics. KG gets some rest while it might help Rondo/Powe get their offense going with more shots and minutes (for Powe) being available tomorrow. Rondo really picked up his offense when one of the big 3 missed a game last year so hopefully the trend continues this year and he is much more aggressive tomorrow.

good God. I missed the game and just saw on sportscenter the play that earned the suspension. Artest and Shaq do worse things every game.

What a crock! Per RealGM, KG gets suspended for the Knicks game for striking Bogut in the face...

This suspension is only justified if KG's actions were intentional (since guys get hit in the face all the time without drawing suspensions) and clearly the 'strike' was in reaction to Bogut's original strike to the face and not intentional. C's should appeal this suspension if possible...
The leaks are real...the news is fake.

I'm just here for the memes.

Boy I nailed that one. I am dumbfounded, If that was Rondo and Ridnour no one would even notice why is it different when it is two big guys? Somewhere Rick Mahorn is laughing at how soft this league is. I thought the ref overreacted with the double tech.

I get the feeling that the league wanted to make an example at Garnett's expense. No doubt the league's feeling the aftershock of the Houston versus Phoenix fallout. If he weren't already... Garnett's a target... Opposing players know how emotional of a player he is and will goad him in future games to get every opportunity to help their team's chances of defeating the Celtics.

You've the jarring between he and Calderon and now this suspension resulting from an incident involving Bogut. Garnett needs to "cool it" for the time beginning until the league moves on from what happened in the Houston versus Phoenix game. Hey, buy yourself a stress ball and keep it at the bench.

You can feel however you want about KG's antics (you have a problem with the thing with Calderon the league said nothing) but there isn't much anyone can do about how they react to getting wacked in the face twice in about 2 seconds. That was also KG's second tech on the season.

I don't think KG has to do anything except if he is going to take a swing at someone make it count and not some half assed back hand slap, not very macho at all.

Rivers has a legitimate point here. I doubt Garnett will appeal it, though.

Celtics coach Doc Rivers was surprised by the NBA's suspension of Kevin Garnett, who will miss Tuesday night's game against New York. "I think it's a joke, honestly," Rivers said. "But they (the NBA) did it and we have live with it. I'm just amazed the officials looked at the play for five to 10 mins and didn't even think Kevin deserved more than just a technical, and the league looks at it and gives him a suspension. I just wish we had more consistency in our league, I really do." Boston Globe
