Don't expect McDyess

Post#1 » by Kefa461 » Tue Nov 18, 2008 12:56 pm

The news is as expected on free agent Antonio McDyess.

The Celtics made their pitch and the big man let it slide on by. The early word after his trade from Detroit to Denver was that McDyess would take a buyout and return to the Pistons, and that is looking even more certain now. Ainge spoke to Andy Miller, McDyess’ representative.

“We spoke,” Ainge said, “but I didn’t get any sense that we should be optimistic about it.”

no surprise there. we were never in the running. I still thinnk this deal stinks and that the league should look into it. Dumars knew full well that he was getting MCDyess back. It's just wrong

I have no problem with him going back to DET, hell he is paying like 7 million bucks for the privilege. But just watch how he will be crying in the offseason when DET only offers him the minimum to return with his numbers and mins down and nobody else willing to offer him much more.

Stupid is as stupid does.

Bummer. Dice would do wonders for our offense. A slightly lesser option would be Joe Smith, KG's old buddy. Maybe Sam Presti could be tempted by some of our young players.

Yeah, I'd been of the opinion he was going back to Detroit from day one. Ainge could've denied his interest in McDyess from the start. Because this one was just too unrealistic for Boston.

Today's Realgm home page says McDyess is interested in Detroit, Boston or Cleveland.
