whatsup guys, im posting in unfamiliar territory lol but here it goes...
first of all, congratulations on the best record in the league and congrats for handing it to us in the finals last year.
yes, i AM a true lakers fan but at the same time...i only state the facts and dont get ahead of myself....so heres the deal-
personally, even though the celtics lost, i still think they are the more superior team to the lakers. the x-mas game...lets face it...i dont think the lakers can play ANY better than that except for maybe try and get to the line a little more. the celtics, on the other hand, are different story. i think this was one of their most AVERAGE (not below average though, but not above average either) games they have ever played.
seriously, the celtics are much better than they played, i dont know, maybe you guys losing posey or us gaining bynum has something to do with it...but according to the finals and your regular season play compared to our regular season play...i think the celtics are still the better team. dont get me wrong, go lakers woohoo lol, but still...i think the east>west so, theres no such thing as ""the celtics have a better record because they are in a weaker conference""...if anything, the west is a weaker conference right now.
so dont worry, be happy, enjoy your rings, enjoy your record...it was just a game, i think you're still better...but the OFFICIAL MATCHUP(in boston) will definately tell us who lies where.
p.s. kg and kobe are my fav players, so i cant hate.

Re: from a lakers fan...
Thanks, but honestly I think every poster on this board feels the exact same way. So this thread won't be as appreciated as it may have been at one time (last year)
Lakers improved, and so did we due to our starting 5 working much better together (rondo learning to go into traffic and is confidently running the offense).
Both of us should be fearing CLE more then the other right now.
People are high on HOU and SA.. but as of now I think LA still are the favorites in the West. Out here in the East.. I think CLE has a slight edge and that's without either us or them improving. Hopefully CLE doesn't make a roster change and we get some bench help to put us back over the top.

I agree with both posts... Boston a superior team to the Lakers and I do fear Cleveland...
A couple of things here...
Did Gasol remind you of that old cartoon "I WANT TO BE A CHICKEN HAWK!" after he scored that last bucket!?!? Pounding his little chicken chest!!
And don't forget... this is a fact... indisputable... the Celtics took their 1st free=throw attempts in the game with 13.5 seconds to go in the half... And it wasn't even a shooting foul. The Lakers finally went over the foul limit. Now... I always DVR each game and wait about an hour before watching it to fast forward ALL the free-throws (usually limitless) and commercials. Mostly because of the FT's, boy that's exciting... for no ft's to this point, draw your own conclusion.

Re: from a lakers fan...
I have to disagree. The loss of Posey without a real replacement for him combined with the addition of Bynum as well as Ariza (still not really sure if thats the same Trevor Ariza as his previous years in the nba) the Lakers when playing well are the best team in the nba. Grant it the Celtics were off their game but having won 19 straight I think we can elminate from saying theyre in a funk. The changes in personel are signs of a shift in power. Pretty clear that with Posey gone there is nobody to contain Kobe and the lategame attempt at double teaming him only made for a Pau Gasol explosion. Rondo was clearly bothered by Kobe shadowing him and Bynum (instead of Odom) in the middle clogging the lanes. In addition the Celtics bench was clearly more effective last year but once again without Posey theyve lost a key contributor. On the flip side the Lakers added someone who would start on virtually every nba roster in odom to their bench. These changes will have to be countered by the Celtics or else they will continue to be the inferior team.

Play us in our house and we'll see where this stands.
Also, did you forget what the result of the finals was last year?

You're not a "true" Lakers fan. You're the one texting on your cell while at Staples.

This thread is pathetic. I doubt you are a real Laker fan, saying the Celtics are "superior". They are both on the same level.

Honestly for me, the Lakers don't even need to depend on Bynum.
They just need Lamar and Gasol not to play under their potential.
