I still haven't said anything good about Marbury. I have only said that hypothetically speaking, modern science is always coming up with new techniques and treatments for all sorts of pathology and that until this meandering path has completely made its way from the pasture to the barn we will not be able to give a definitive closing to this terribly complicated barnyard scenario as carcinogenic allegations remain too vague to properly gauge their effect on the ultimate outcome of the matter at hand.

I hope that clears things up.

He's 3-3 in terms of being removed from a team and the team doubling it's win percentage the very next season, with the Knicks having a decent chance to make it 4-4. It might not have the same P value as the likelyhood that Tim Donaghy was effecting the outcome of NBA games, but as far as analyzing the impact of sports players on teams that's about as scientific as you're going to get.

It's like if I gave you a hammer and said hit yourself in the face with it. Had you lived in a fantasy land for your entire life you might be surprised to learn that it hurts. The second time I asked you to hit yourself in the face with a hammer you might assume that the pain from the initial blow was due to chance and not due to the blow from the hammer. That's fine, but if it hurts the second time, you'd best learn your lesson for hammer blow to the face #3. Since Marbury has tried and failed more miserably than any other player past or present in four different locations, the Celtics signing Marbury would be the equivalent of hitting yourself in the face with a hammer 5 times without learning the lesson that it hurts to do it. An absolutely asinine move. Everyone I know that isn't a Celtics fan is laughing at the Celtics right now, including Knicks fans who have had the joy for enduring the most recent chapter in the Stephon Marbury story.

Well said, cancer is cancer. D'Antoni would've played him if there was a player there.
Frustrating watching Eddie bring the ball up and heave J's. Stephon won't help that.
Tanking :nonono: Live for the day 8-)

He will never play with Boston, as much as I would love for him to destroy the Celtics from within.
He played with K.G..... meaning K.G. HATES HIM! Everyone that plays with him does. I was reading some of these posts saying he would want to prove himself, would come off the bench, etc. makes sense. It would make sense to everyone but Marbury. Remember two years ago when he said he was best pg in the league. At that point the Knicks were having the worst season in team history, then there was last season which made the previous season seem like heaven. How long till you think he would keep his mouth shut about the best point guard in the world coming off the bench.
ps
And that guy above me makes some darn good points about the hammer and stuff
Clyde Drexler, called Oakley a dirty player. Told of Drexler’s comment, Oak said, “He can blow me.”

I don't see that much risk.

You thoroughly check him out beforehand. If you have any doubts you don't sign him.

If you're satisfied, after he arrives he either acts like an eagle scout or you cut him.

There are two big differences now to any previous Marbury situation:

1) As mentioned he's signing on to be the sixth man not the star, or he doesn't get signed at all.

2) Just as important he's going to sign for vets minimum so he's got no leverage. This is like no previous contract for him. The Knicks are stuck with him because they owe him so much money. The Celtics can cut him at any time.

If he screws up he's gone.
