The worst los since the Big three!

Post#1 » by klemen4 » Mon Jan 5, 2009 1:40 am

This today was a total embarisement...

The worst game since the start of the last years season and far the worst game this year, and I watched all of them

1)No energy and will
Ok there are 82 games, but how can you go out like this...where is Celtic pride!

2)Played small not Big
One of Docs bad coached games...we could destroyed them inside

3)KG,Allen and Rondo totally off...incredible
Allen 0-9 for3, KG 1-6, Rondo 1-7

4)Again no bench
T.Allen-same stupid turnovers, cant make layops..cant watch him anymore
Davis-same old big baby
House-no pg skils under presure
Scalabrine-ok, he played solid D , but he just cant hit those 3pt, I dont know
Only Powe was solid

All props to Pierce, he showed why he is far the best C player and was MVP.

And Rondo, the way he played and acted...he should be ashamed.

...and NY

I watched around 10 games this year

Carer game by Chandler...he really was amazing tonight
Also Harrington had one of his best games

BUT

Not that NY played good, Boston really showed nothing today

A really cold shower

I don't know about that... worst? It's still just an early regular season game.

Embarrassing? Absolutely.

Why Doc chooses to go small late in the game is baffling. The infatuation with House's 3-point shooting is ridiculous when the knicks penetrate time and time again without Perk in the middle (or Powe for that matter who was taken out in the 4th after having been very effective. Baffling 4th quarter personnel decisions by Doc in 3 of the 4 losses. Is he trying to teach Rondo, Perk and Powe a lesson? Not sure but it's more than just the other team getting hot. It's poor interior D that leads to either foul shots, rebounds or easy kickouts by the other team. It happened too often today, vs, GS and vs. Portland.

Lay off, Doc.

The team's limitations were exposed.

Ray played well, he was 7-9 from 2 point range.

The lack of offense from Rondo and Perk, combined with a 1-6 game from KG
(the steadiest player and highest performer from Day 1 of last season)
exposed the other shortcomings of the team,
and without House being on,
the lack of one consistent bench scorer.

That's right, not one.

So, the warts showed today.

Hopefully everyone will put their makeup, mojo and overachieve hats on
and this will be forgotten down in Charlotte.

Forget about it.

And it's pretty obvious that today, Steph Marbury would have played 30 minutes
if he were on the Celtics.

Heck, he might even have scored 17 points on his own.

It's not just one game though, we've now lost 4 of 6. I know that every team hits a funk, but this is getting a little odd, because we were blowing out teams just a few weeks ago. We should have been able to beat the knicks just based on the kind of defense we play.

In the last 6 games we've lost to LA, Portland, GS, and now NY. LA is a good team that was playing at a high level because they wanted revenge on the Celtics, so that loss was something that could be understood. Portland is a good team, but without Brandon Roy that should have been a win. Golden state is not a good team and they played harder than we did. I never thought I'd see this team get outhustled with KG on the floor, but we did and lost to GS. I didn't get to see this game today, as I was at work, but it looks like everyone, except Pierce, was off again.

Why I'm worried is because our bench hasn't yet come up big for us in any game. Eddie House is becoming like ARod. ARod only hits homeruns in blowouts and Eddie only hits shots in blowouts. Leon is turning into a black hole and seems to never pass from the post. Baby is much to undersized to play center and really not skilled enough to play at all. Tony Allen is the most erratic player on the team and is so inconsistent that he can't be counted on to contribute all the time. POB and Pruitt don't get enough time to be judged but POB looks like he's lost out there. Pruitt looks like he could probably play backup point better than Eddie though.

I wouldn't say this is the worst lose since the Big three. The G.S. game was just as bad. This is by far the worst week since the Big 3.

I agree this is a bad loss, mostly because we got embarrassed by the KNICKS of all teams...but it's still only January, we're the best record in the league, Cleveland has played a cupcake schedule and will come back down to earth, and we've played a BRUTAL schedule so far and are still leading the pack...relax (for now)!
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

Way too much negativity when Boston loses. All teams go in a slump so I expect something like this to happen. I was expecting around 62 wins, so I'm not surprised too much. Hopefully they'll at least be competitive in Cleveland, and a win would be very nice. Hopefully Marbury and Smith will become Celtics and the team will be healthy for the playoffs. That is pretty much all I can hope for.

As I said in another thread, better to have this stretch in January than in June...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!
