I'd say it was the worst idea i'd heard, but then someone else said they should bench Pierce for Tony Allen. Impressive logic, I applaud you both.

That i'd agree with and even go so far as to agree with the OP that his play in the preseason starts was good enough to make one wonder why he's sequestered behind Baby/Powe in the rotation. This is the time where you keep the Big 3's minutes consistent and find out what you have on the bench. Yes homecourt is important but if you're playing the wrong guys then that is just something else keeping you from your goal. The argument that playing the other bench guys could cost wins is moot as the current rotation has already shown they can excel at that.

POB should at least be playing more meaningful minutes, preferably Davis'...he's no worse than BBD and is taller...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

Yeah, BBD tries...but I don't see any heart or desire...otherwise he woulda come into this season in shape and developed some offensive skills!

U wanna take a guy who is average 8ppg/ 8rpg getting into his prime for a guy who cant out play BBD for mins! WOW stupiest post of the year by far!

No need to be a dickhole. Whenever I've seen Perk play with Baby or Powe the 2nd unit has looked really good. Plus O'Bryant seemed to play better when he started in the preseason.

Dickhole lol now thats funny! but Dude this is dumb stupid! and ur resonce is that he start a few early preseason vs a bunch of Centers that didnt even make the NBA and u said he looked good! Oh pls he cant out play BBD for mins and u said he looks good. kid is gonna be an alright 5 in the NBA but he is not a starting center on the NBA defending champs. Dickhole!

I can see some merit to the idea of POB getting some more mins mostly because we are terrible offensively off the bench. Leon and Baby are probably a decent offensive defensive tandem but they can't both hold down a rotation spot at this point.

The problem with POB is that he is still pretty clueless out there it is so hit or miss with his play, that may only change with more opportunities but I don't know that he can get those opportunities in Boston.

So we get more Scal.

Of course you shouldn't start Patrick O'Bryant.

As far as playing him over Glen Davis, probably.

Check this out.

All Statistics (except shooting %) are quoted per 36 minutes
to equalize playing time differences.

Statistic ******************** Kendrick Perkins **** Glen Davis **** Patrick O'Bryant
Points ***************************** 11.1 ****************** 8.2 **************** 17.1
FG% ******************************** 59.5 ***************** 37.3 *************** 57.9
FT% ******************************** 57.6 ***************** 73.9 *************** 72.7
Rebounds ************************** 10.5 ****************** 6.6 *************** 13.1
Assists ****************************** 1.5 ******************* 1.6 *************** 2.9
Steals ******************************* 0.3 ******************* 1.1 *************** 0.6
Blocks ******************************* 2.3 ******************* 0.4 *************** 2.9
Turnovers *************************** 2.9 ******************* 1.2 *************** 7.4
Fouls ******************************** 4.2 ******************** 6.1 ************* 11.4

If it weren't for the turnovers and fouls, it's O'Bryant in a runaway.

Man Cfan....I respect the fact that you have a ton of posts and are an active contributor but your threads make me scratch my head most of the time.

Patrick can't get into games unless it's a blow out or definite loss.....and you wanting him starting? He'll be lucky to still be on the roster come playoff time.

That pretty much explains it though doesn't it?

Lets start the guy who would foul out twice in 36 mins and turn it over 7.5 times before he did.

Yeah right, I'm sure he'd foul out with the starting lineup. You guys are having delusions of grandeur if you don't think he'd strive with 3 all star caliber players.

He certainly can't be worse than Davis...should he START? No...Perk has earned that job. Should he play more minutes (BBD's minutes)? Yes.
It's still 17 to 11!!!!
