congratulations on a successful trade.
Due to Boston and New York being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Boston and New York had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Why do the knicks do this? They get rid of Marbury and all the issues that surround him and get a decent big man in KG.
Why do the celtics do this?
They get a backup PG they need, plus his contact expires which gives the Celtics some cap space.
Plus they get curry who I think can still be a solid player and is still young.
As a KnickFan, I endorse that trade.
But Joe raises a good point . The Big Three has peaked. Ray has seen his best days and Garnett is showing a little age. Still you guys have the most formidable trio in the league, but y'all need to wake up regarding Rondo and your bench. They have been exposed. Ofcourse you could still win again this year but you really do need Marbury. We'll take Peirce in exchange for him
