Career Stats:

Pargo - Height 6' 1", .395 FG Pct, .349 3pt Pct, .849 FT Pct, 2.1 assists, 1.6 turnovers
House - Height 6' 1", .408 FG Pct, .383 3pt Pct, .840 FT Pct, 1.7 assists, 1.7 turnovers

Pargo 16.2 minutes per game
House 17.0 minutes per game.

Pargo shoots the ball 1 shot every 2.38 minutes of playing time
House shoots the ball 1 shot every 2.32 minutes of playing time.

Tell me what I am missing, they pretty much look the same player to me. Their production is the same.

Why the need for Pargo?

I've never known Pargo to be a great defender. And to be honest I have no problem with House's d.

It makes no sense to bring in Pargo.

Pargo is essentially House. No upgrade.

For this team Pargo would be a House that can easily break backcourt pressure. And be more of a consistent passer.

That wouldn't greately improve the team.

The Celtics need a big man first and foremost. After that, probably a legit wing player that can defend and be able to do at least one thing very well offensively [threes, drive to the hole, come off picks].

A backup PG like Pargo would legitimately help this team. But is third on this list of improvements. And if we don't get a backup Center I don't think the other two will be enough help.

Pargo is the player I've had wanted for weeks now. The Marbury thing is taking forever and may never happen.

But adding a decent big should be our main priority. I still fell Sam Cassell will be able to contribute and be effective.

I like the Pargo idea. He is similar to House, except he can handle the rock much better than Eddie. I wouldn't be surprised if Danny did try to get him in the offseason, but he priced himself out of the market. I remember he wanted a 3 year deal from NO, but they didn't want him for that long or for the money he was asking (was it the full MLE?). But they were willing to give Posey a 4 year deal? Go figure.

Anyway, I say bring him on at the right price. Gabe just isn't cutting it.

pargo is talented, but he wasn't much of a team player for that second unit in new orleans.

if we're going with a "potentially" selfish player in the second unit, i'd rather go with the even more talented and cheaper stephon marbury.

Anyone saying that Pargo is not an upgrade really has not seen him play. He is more athletic, a better ballhandler, much better defender. He is also surprisingly clutch. But the only way we could do this is if he is willing to take a huge paycut, and we could turn Eddie House over to someone else for a wing/bigman. Plus, on a personal level I really like Eddie and the effect he seems to have in the locker room.
