Our bench a big surprise!

Post#1 » by klemen4 » Thu Jan 29, 2009 10:07 pm

It has been a long time since somebody posted a threat about our bench. I remember the time in December when I was really dissapointed in play of our bench. At that time I stated that only House and Powe are keepers.

Things have chanced in last month:

HOUSE: Except from his early (first 10 games) slump he has been solid all season, but he really exploded in last games. Tony Allens injury was a good think to happen, because than Rivers had no chance but to play Pruit, meaning that House moved to SG. Now finally he plays the position in which he excels. I could not wish for a better backup sg.

POWE: Well he is not playing good in last month and his limited offensive game really hurts him. Also we play better ball with Scal spreading the floor and hitting 3pt. But I believe Powe will bounce back.

Now to surprises.

BIG BABY: He has been amazing in last month. I stated month ago that if he will be able to hit that mid range jumper he will be huge for us. And he has done that, also defensively he improved, turnovers are limited. He made me think that we dont need that Big man we were looking for. Now if you give me an option of Joe Smith or Big Baby, I would prefer BB because of his passion and energy.

SCAL: Wow...again the injury of Perkins catapulted Scal back into the rotation and he besides his ok defense also started to hit 3pt. He has been great in last month but I think his position is pf, not sf. If he was able to shut down Stoudamire he can defend anyone.

TO be decided:

PRUITT: He is solid, but at moments to scared. I like his defense and great looking shot but he must become more involved and brave. But as long he plays, House is at sg and I like that.

T.ALLEN: Well...still waiting if he can be consistent. If he would play 70% the way he played in yesterdays game(Sacramento) he is our solution at sf. Besides Detroit game early in season last night game was probably his best of the season. We will see.

Changes before the second part of the season and playoffs?

Well

PG:?
SG: House
SF: Allen (last nights version)
PF: Scal / Powe
C: Big Baby (last month version)

I think if we get Marbury to play backup point we have good enough bench to repeat. My only fear left is how to defend Lebron, because Im not sold on T.Allen being that man.

Your opinion?

We'll definitely sign Marbury once he gets waived.
You gotta remember too that PJ Brown might come back in Celtics uniform after the all-star break
and don't forget about Cassell at PG.
We just gotta make room and waive O'Bryant who is useless and don't think he has potential to be a good player.
