OT: How about Chris Bosh?

Post#1 » by phoolishly_insane » Mon Feb 2, 2009 1:53 pm

He reportedly told the Raptors GM that he will not re-sign with them.

Do you think Celtics will make a run at him when he hits free angency?
Is he worth it?
Is he our next Garnett?

What do you think?

If he won`t resign he will be traded before his contract expires...We really don`t have the assets to get him...

I think the raptors trade Bosh at next years deadline. Not to us though. Maybe GS,they have alot of young talent i could see Colangelo being interested in.

He has the biggest ego in the league, I just don't see him buying into a program where he isn't the "man", doesn't have all the plays run for him. His comments earlier in the year that he deserved MVP consideration were embarrasing, almost as bad as his video to get voted into the all star game last year.

Besides, he's already listed Miami and Dallas as his preferred locations. Warm weather boy?

You've got to feel bad for the Raptors fans, they're pretty passionate about their team, and McGrady, Carter, Bosh all didn't/don't want to play there.

Before saying he's your next KG, you should see who came out with the comments saying he wants out: Stephen A. Smith. So reliable.

He doesn't have the biggest ego, but he has been a bitch in the last few weeks with fans booing him, calling out team mates and the like. Early in the season he actually did deserve MVP consideration because he was incredible - but Smitch played him way too much and burnt him out.

The comment about Vince not wanting to play in TO is wrong; at the time he wanted out because of management (Babcock, Peddie, etc.), not because of the city or the fans and what have you. And even after getting traded to Jersey he's gone on record to say he loves Toronto and would go back to Toronto if he had the chance.

I am not a big fan of lining up for a guy who is trying to shoot his way out of town. While he is a great talent he is moving further and further from the rim and doesn't play a lick of defense and yet gets on his teammates for their mistakes.

In 5 years he might be a great option but I think the dude has some growing up to do. We also have no shot.

My guess is that TOR is going to explore their options now.

One senario I could see playing out that might impact Boston somewhat is this.

Bosh to Miami
Marion and O'Neal to NYC
David Lee, and the contracts of Rose and Marbury to TOR.

Obviously TOR would look to pick up some other pieces but this would basically give them Lee, a real PF, and the option to be the go to spot in FA this year.

The Knicks can extend Marion without messing with the '10 bonanza that likely won't happen anyway. More importantly they can make the playoffs for the next two years and actually be an option to a FA.

The Heat look like the big winners but while pretty they will likely be fatally flawed by a tootsie big man and a SG who can't shoot making 40+ mil a year.

Either way if I am TOR I make the deal and don't look back, because of their location issue they need to be decisive or they end up getting screwed.

Maybe the could swap him for Amare?

TOR won't trade him to a franchise in the Atlantic Division. Maybe to Miami, but I think they would prefer to trade him to the West. After Carter got traded to a Division rival, I'm pretty sure they won't let that happen again. Colangelo would lose any credit in the fan base.

didnt think about a Bosh for Amare swap. makes too mush sense to happen... I could see Amare whining about getting traded to Canada though. Maybe make it a bigger trade and have Nash go along with him.

Toronto is a pretty kick ass city the issue is the finances and it is something that the league has to look into equalizing. The tax advantages in Texas and Florida basically allow them to pay more than the max to FA's in some cases even making it a better deal than resigning with their own team who supposedly has a cash advantage. While everyone says so what now, when the Knicks lose out on FA's for even money in two years, not because they suck but because of city and state taxes the league is probably going to start caring. The "max" salary should be calculated after taxes.

Bosh is too good of a player and person to talk like that. Especially in the middle of the season. What purpose does it serve to talk to his GM and say he won't resign with the Raptors in the middle of the season?

He does a lot for the city in terms of charity and being visible as a good role model, representing his team. Moreover - look at the source Stephen A Smith!

who takes mr. cheetos seriously? i trust britney spears more than him. and she's mrs. cheetos.

Think what you want to about SAS he didn't say it like it was a scoop or industry secret. It sounds more like the Bosh and the organization had a sit down and he told them he does not intend to be their after his contract. They are 11 games under .500 and his trade value only goes down from this point forward. If I was Collangelo I would find out what he would land right now while a team can get two post seasons out of him on this contract. There are desperate teams out there that need to makes major moves over the next two season or their windows will close or they will lose their own all star. MIami, Dallas, NY are teams that are likely willing to make a long term mistake for some short term success.

Although the source isn't reliable, could you really blame Bosh for wanting out? Look at how his fans treat him. Head on down and read some of the posts, where they crap on Bosh, not realizing that he has absolutely no help. I think the glorious division title banner has turned that fanbase into a delusional bunch. They aren't going to win until Colangelo gets Bosh a decent supporting cast.

Bosh is a pussy. He's a choke artist and back down against real competition. During those raptors games this season I'm surprised Bosh didn't cower in a corner and cry since KG seems to be in his head.
