OT:Again with the Refs-!!

Close game tonight in NY---and the refs blow a CRUCIAL call AGAIN---in a 2 point game in the last 1-1/2 minute--Nate Robinson saves a ball going out of bounds---and the refs GIVE the ball to Clev and LEBRON--!! what a surprise....CAVS WIN-!!

I saw that, but the refs always do stuff like that. See the WCF last year.

Tim Donaghy was NOT an isolated case and the NBA is-you guessed it, still Fixed and always will be, no different than World Wrestling Entertainment. The NBA is just that-Entertainment and nothing more.

CelticsBlog had a good article on the refs, scratching the surface a bit, although the freemason David Stern will never be put under oath.

I find it funny when i watch games with my pops. he gets all heated and swears at the TV. if watching basketball gets you stressed, you're doing something wrong. it is just entertainment.

Wow, two conspiracy theories in one post, freemasons and the NBA has gone WWE! I'm pretty sure you've got it wrong, planet X runs everything though their agent on earth, Sam Cassell. In all seriousness, I have no doubt some of the refs are on the take, but to think the whole league is on a big fix is just ridiculous, if you know anything about human nature there is no way to involve that many people in a secret that big and not have that secret blown wide open. Sooner or later some disgruntled player or coach would write a tell all book about it and get rich being the hero who blew it open. As for referring to teams as "we" or "us", I guess 90% of this board must make you sick and I'm not sure why you bother coming here. Getting emotionally into a game and considering a team "our" team is what makes us fans and makes sports fun, a loud raucus crowd can bring athletes to a new level, it IS entertainment, it's an outlet, it's whatever you want to call it and if you can't let youself ride the highs and lows you shouldn't even bother because that is what the fun is all about. Go watch Project Runway or American Idol or something, though maybe you'll think the freemason's have that fixed too.

This is such a given that most fans of the NBA just shrug and accept it...we know it's biased (if not outright rigged sometimes) and it ain't gonna change. Calls will always go to benefit stars or the teams from LA and NY, so we just have to be that much better and deal with it.
