the REAL call that changed the game....
With 6:30 left in the 4th-C's had a 4 point lead...Vujacic missed a 3 pointer,C's grab the rebound-----Perkins blocking out on Gasol gets whistled for a ridiculous foul (Gasol on his back)...Doc goes Ballistic in front of the C's bench (and down the sideline).....Lakers get the ball back--Odom gets fouled on a layup (KG -his 5th)---All of a sudden it's a 1 point game....and KG is set up to foul out of the game, which he does a minute or two later.

Dude, enough about whinning about the fouls. We lost because we aren't good enough to beat the Lakers and the Cavs right now. Just except that. Last year's team would have won this game. Had the Laker had Bynum, we would have lost by 10 or more.
The trade deadline is less than to weeks away. If we can upgrade our 9 man rotation, we still have a chance to repeat. If we don't, we won't. Focus on getting better. Hope Perkins can find some offense to his weak ass game. Take the losses like a man, no excuses.
Watch the Cavs vs the Lakers on Sunday. Their fans won't be complaining about the refs, they won't have to.

No, the worse call was the missed travel by Kobe with about 18 seconds left. They passed the ball to him he took a step and a half then without dribbling, passed the ball to Odom who was then fouled by Allen.
Had that been called for that the celtics would have got the ball back with a 1 point lead with 16 seconds left.

Lol it's funny how we're complaining. We can go all the way back to the first play of the game to find the CALL that sealed it. I agree though that Kobe possession looked like a travel somehow. Maybe we should ask our expert, King James, to review that. He can tell what it was.lol.

Re: the REAL call that changed the game....
that was just such a poorly officiated game...bob ryan was talkin about how crappy the refs were too....
I'm sure the Lakers fans could find a ton of calls that didnt go their way either....
LoL...with that said my favorite non-call was when Vujacik stole the ball dribble once, picked up the ball, spun and then dribbled again to start the fast break...where I think someone scored on that play...me and my boys just kept rewinding the **** because there was a foul to get the steal, then a double dribble....whatever bad game from the refs.

Looked like a travel somehow? It was. You cannot get the ball passed to you, take a step and a half and then pass the ball to someone all without dribbling.
Dribble first take steps after is the rule.

Looks like you're one of the few Celtics fans that know what they're talking about. After a loss like this, it really makes you think what could've been if you guys didn't loose Posey. I'll be honest, Pierce does the best job at containing Kobe and I've been surprised he's been able to do it on both ends on the floor. Imagine Posey + Pierce on Kobe, well look at the 08 Finals. It's a bummer for you guys, but you have to move on and hope Ainge does a trade or signs a defensive minded swing player.
As for the game, one thing that stood out was the poor Free Throw shooting by the Lakers. 17-29. You could easily say, if this if that, the game wouldn't even need an OT. But reality is what it is, the game was officiated good, even if fans of both teams nitpick on certain situations, it happens in every game. The refs aren't robots and calls are missed and blown wrong all the time. A championship caliber team is not supposed to mention the refs after a loss, they should study tape and improve themselves for the next game. A loss like this is not worth more than 1 loss.

Re: the REAL call that changed the game....
^^^Yeah, I agree with what Damir said (and also agree with Return2glory).
It's only a regular season game. Why are all you Celtic fans getting all upset and whiny? I'm a Laker fan, and I don't think the win was all that big. There are too many variables in the regular season going on to conclude that one team is better than the other going by a regular season match-up. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad the Lakers won, and I'm even happier that we played you guys physical in your arena, but it doesn't say anything to me about which team is better. That gets decided if we play in the finals, like last year.
Anyway, good game last night.

Pay no mind to the battles you've won
It'll take a lot more than rage and muscle
Open your heart and hands, my son

I agree. It's ridiculous that Perk never gets a call....and I mean never.

If you look at the Celtics' players' salaries and contract lengths, it's very hard to come up with any trade that will improve you. No one is going to want Scalabrine and the rest of your roster after your core 8 is filled with minimum salary guys.
Best bet is to hope Joe Smith or someone else good gets bought out. I wouldn't want Marbury.

Re: the REAL call that changed the game....
The reason I started this thread, was because everyone was complaining about 2 plays--the KG 6th foul (awful-Gasol hit him TWICE to knock the ball away) and the last play (I don't think there was really a foul-just Ray trying to get a call far from the hoop)....I give the Lakers FULL credit for hitting about 4-5 3 pointers each time the C's were trying to pull away with a lead.
The Lakers biggest weakness is playing against QUICK point guards....Rondo kept walking the ball up the court almost all night-thus, eliminating our BIGGEST advantage we have over them, and letting the Lakers set their defense=Tougher for us to get an open shot=Closer game than it should have been=OT loss....Tommy said the exact thing in the post game show--and he's the ONLY one I heard say this.

The loser of that game will, guarranteed.
It should be interesting though, Lebron and Kobe get as many calls as Bird, Jordan and Johnson did. It will be interesting to see who gets whistled for more fouls.
My guess Laker fans will be complaining, since the games in Cleveland and they have not lost there all year long.

Re: the REAL call that changed the game....
Sorry to burst you guys bubble but we hardly ever complain about foul calls when we lose. Yeah it's always a call here or there that can swing momentum in a minute but usually when we lose it's a bitch fest about which player on our team screwed up.
Some of you guys feel your above taking a look on our board most night, but I'm telling you that's how it goes down on nights we lose.
I'll give you an example, the night we lost to the Bobcats Kobe fouled out in regulation. We had to go OT without him, we grabbed the lead and was on our way to the W. Then Odom caught a brain freeze and left off Diaw to help on Felton which we got hit by a Diaw 3. We all bitched that night on how dumb Odom was, we wasn't even trippin the fact Kobe fouled out it was like so what. We felt we should've won the game despite that.
I agree with what return2glory said you just gotta except it. I go into every NBA game KNOWING the officiating will be crappy.............that's just the way it is.
Myself personally I wanted to see something else with the game besides the Lakers winning, I wanted to see them compete and come away knowing that they can play hard in that building.

to whoever said we are not good enough to beat the lakers or cavs: Give me a break. Yeah a trade or FA signing would be nice but we still have to be the favorites. I mean, even if only slighlty We have so much star power, a up and coming pg and play as a team. In 7 games, everyone healthy I think we beat the lakers and caves in 7. It is anyones game but to say we are not good enough is just silly. We have Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and KG. So what if we lost a game or ten?

Re: the REAL call that changed the game....
I still don't worry about any team in a 7 game series.....see what HAS to happen for the C's to lose. What STRANGE bounces.....what GREAT games have to be played for the C's to lose. What BAD calls have to be made. In a 7 game series, the C's are the team that make the other teams coaches stay up at night trying to figure things out......
