Tony Allen for Grant Hill
Grant Hill is 36 and getting near the end but he is having a good year and could give us a big lift off the bench. I really think he would be inspired playing for Doc again and with KG, Pierce etc. The trade works on trade checker and if we had to take another salary like louis admonsen we could. Tony has a 2 year deal and Hill has one so he comes off the books sooner as well. Hill also is bigger than tony and would be able to spell pierce at the small forward position. Finally, unlike tony he's a smart player

Re: Tony Allen for Grant Hill
Goodness knows what Phoenix management would do with this proposal, the franchise looks to be a disaster right now. If they move Shaq and/or Amare they're likely going to get a bunch of players back, and I could even see Hill being bought out so they could use roster spots for what is brought in. Looks to me like they're in blow it up mode, but I don't know if they're going to try and retool and be immediately competitive, or rebuild.
I think Hill would be a great asset on the Celtics, I'd make this trade.

Tony has been playing great since coming back.

His first game back was fantastic...all the others, same old Tony

I'd trade TA for a bag of basketball at this point. So if the C's could get Grant Hill I'd be all for it. Problem is I see no reason why the Suns would want the TA's contract for next season.

I'd stick with the kid. I'm trying to imagine who Hill would guard.

Re: Tony Allen for Grant Hill
Im all for a move like this but I highly doubt The Suns do this
As much as I dont care much for HIll, I would do this in a second. Tony has looked terrible as of late...
I'm sad to state; that after witnessing too many missed layups that he should be dunking , I dont think the guy has anything left in those knees. Also, in general he's never gotten under control and still makes too many boneheaded plays disrupting the flow of the game. It's quite unfortunate to say the least as I once found Tonys game quite promising, however, outside of his defensive skill set, he could easily be replaced. Please note that like Posey, Allen is a decent defender...not great or all NBA and it's likely that Walker or Giddons may be able to fill this role on the defense...
Hills leadership and offense off the bench COULD make him "that guy" we need.

Sounds like Phoenix wants to trim payroll and add young players.. Maybe they'd have some interest in Giddens??

Re: Tony Allen for Grant Hill
If Hill was ready to bolt his partnership with Shaq and the Suns
the more likely trade is
Giddens & Pruitt for Grant Hill.

Yea would probably be for Giddens and POB or Giddens and Pruitt. Would definitely be a nice addition...still need that big off the bench however

That could work. They may package Barbosa with Amare, so will need a backup pg..
