OT: Where will Amare end up?

Post#1 » by BakersDozen » Fri Feb 6, 2009 4:56 pm

So the Suns want youth and expiring contracts for Amare. Factor in they probally would rather trade him to the east, leaves me with two ideas.
1. the hawks. something like Horford/Williams/Law and another player for Amare and Dudley.

Phx gets 3 young players one of which is expiring in Williams who they could re sign in the offseason. The Hawks become really scary with a foursome of Bibby/Johnson/Smith/Amare. They probally suffer defensively and i think JJ and Amare arent exactly friends though.

2. pistons. sheed/stuckey/amir johnson for amare.
phx gets an expiring vet in sheed. a young big in Amir and and very good combo guard in Stuckey. Pistons get the best player in the deal, and Amare gets to be the man again,if Iverson lets him.

I think an Amare for Bosh deal makes sense. I don't know salary, and how Raptors fans would feel about this deal. But I imagine now that bosh has reportedly said he is not going to re-sign, that they would love amare.

edit: Yep, Salaries match up. Trade ID #4976923

maybe have phx throw in a pick.

I don't think Dudley can be packaged in a deal quite yet, he was just acquired from Charlotte. I could see Amare ending up in Toronto, though I think he'd want out of there pretty fast. I could also see him going to Golden State for a package. I see PHX wanting to get two or three capable players for him rather than one star.

I think you could interchange Barnes and Dudley. Or even Hill but I would think Phx would rather hold onto him.

Probably to the Lakers for Lamar Scrotum's expiring contract. Phoenix is so damned cheap they'd probably do it.

Chicago, Pacers, and OKC are possible teams that Amare could go to.

I think he'll be traded to New York.

A trade of David Lee, Quentin Richardson and Danilo Gallinari for Amare Stoudemire works on the Checker. Perhaps, New York could include a lottery protected first round pick in 2010 as well.

Amare & Barbosa to Miami for Beasley and Marion. Marion may get sent elsewhere.. I can see them dealing Shaq too. My fear is that Shaq could go to Cleveland, who has expiring contracts and can send Varejo..

Interesting that Chicago is up to their old tricks. All of a sudden Deng is untouchable and they are trying to pass off Hinrich, Tyrus Thomas, etc as passable assets in exchange for a star. When all they need to do is man up, make a fair offer, and they can have a solid team when they finally get a decent big man.

Of course, Memphis wouldn't take their garbage offer for Gasol, and wound up taking a much worse offer from LA - so I'm not sure what lesson Chicago learned from that.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. It's a shame that they just destroyed such a great Suns team. I can see it in Nash's eyes everytime I see him on ESPN or TNT: he is totally bummed that his team got obliterated.

The proposed trade w/New Jersey looks very good for the Nets. A'mar'e, Vince, Devin, Lopez is a very good core, with Hayes, S Williams, etc as decent bench. Maybe people don't think the offer is serious, but Yi brings the $$ to PHX, Andersen is a bonafide NBA player (I get Nets games), and they have a few draft picks to dangle.

IMO, if this goes through the Nets become a scary 6-8 first round seed in the East.

Oh, and I'm willing to ignore that donut Amare spat out in Boston. Clearly that team has thrown in the towel; no way Scal holds down an inspired Amare.

I'd really like to see Bos/ NJ as first round playoffs. Boston in 5, though.
