Would love to be a fly on the wall in Ainge's office

Post#1 » by Hemingway » Sun Feb 8, 2009 8:54 pm

From now till the trade deadline, regardless if a deal is made or a contract signed, I think we can all agree Danny will be talking with almost everyone. Names like Marbs and Smith seem to pop up the most and surly Danny is in constant talks abut them. But if we know Ainge (and I think we do) he is talking to teams about players we haven't even considered.

My question to the board is: What do you think the list of priority in Danny's mind is? Who is he calling first? Who is on his trade/FA board so to speak?

I'm beginning to believe what has already been suggested on WEEI that Ainge will likely wait until after the deadline and see who's available in free agents. But, if Ainge has his heart set on one or more players being bought out. Then this season's a lost cause in that regard. Next off season is when you'll probably see Ainge make headlines. For now, I'm near giving up on talking about "What If's" before the trade deadline. It's a waste of time and energy to hope. More and more I'm seeing this. I'm better off discussing the players Boston does have and those that don't play.

Theo Epstein ca. 2005 syndrome...Danny might be starting to think he's smarter than he is (Theo recovered...I hope Danny does, too!)

Only the Pats have been successful using this approach...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!
