Kenny Thomas of the Sactown Kings, has always been an interesting player to me, though undersized. Is this guy done? I'm sure he's available, what do y'all think?
Our front court is not strong enough IMO going into the playoffs. We are a quite similar team to the last years pre Sam I AM & PJ (title contenders, but a couple piece away underdog), only I think we are a little worse without Pose, and other teams have caught up. Therefore, we are in even more need of veteran help if we intend on repeating.
We all know what chips are tradeable, but what can we realistically get? I don't see any valuable free agents on the market that aren't projects or unproven. Antoine Walker, ill pass. Also, waiting for players cut from rosters won't happen until after the deadline, reducing the amount of time the player(s) has/ve to gel with team. Also, its no guarantee that anything valuable to us will come across wavers.
I think Danny will have to make a move via trade with what chips we have, definetly Tony Allen will go maybe even Baby or Leon to get what Danny covets. I expect we stay put at point guard but look to bolster the front court and three position. I also expect Bill Walker to see court time the second half of the year, his defense deciding whether he makes the playoff rotation. It would also be nice to see POB see the court, to keep Danny from needing to acquire two front court players.
Just going to throw one out there, brings Melvin Ely & Kenny Thomas to Boston

What about 6'10'' Chris Wilcox, rotting away in OKC?

Re: Kenny Thomas
Boston doesn't need another undersized power forward. Whether or not he's a better player than either Powe or Davis is moot. He'll make $8.5M next season. Far more than he's probably worth. I mean Thomas is a good player. I remember him when he was playing for Houston. But, like Wilcox or other players on the block, their salary will make it hard to acquire them via a trade. Just because you read that a team has a desire to trade a specific player from their roster. Doesn't mean you've a chance at him. You've to have players that a team would want in exchange.
Ainge's more interested in players who could get a buyout or in free agents. Unfortunately, some teams are preferring to not buyout their players and rather trade them instead.

Re: Kenny Thomas
Kenny Thomas isn't any better than Leon or Baby he just go to play 35-40 mins a night early in his career now he has lost what little lift he had and never was much of a defender. He can score and rebound and if we picked him up off the street great but to trade for him wouldn't make sense.
Everyone's preference is to get something out of an asset in about 10 days that option comes to an end for this season and teams will be looking to at least cut costs especially in some of the outposts.
