Do the Celtics need Frontcourt help?
As an outsider looking in I think you guys need help at the 4-5 spots. It was pretty evident to me during the Lakers game! I think a guy that might be a good fit for you guys is Sean Williams from the Nets, he's in the dog house there but the guy can block shots and rebound, I want to see the Celtics make a move cuz i really dont wanna see the Lakers win a Championship

I would love to see Sean Williams here. Everyone prefers a savvy veteran, but that veteran's physical decline and a punk like Williams's mental immaturity cancel each other out, right? For every idiot mistake Sean Williams would make off the bench that a veteran wouldn't, he'd probably get to a loose ball or block a shot that an aging veteran couldn't. Plus, there just aren't that many veteran big men out there -- but there are plenty of immature but talented big men rotting on benches.

We actually need an offensive big who can defend enough to get by. I also think Sean Williams is a complete knucklehead.
I agree with the idea of going with a young guy with some experience over the over the hill guy though.

No question we need someone who can be consistent on both ends for us in the front court.

Do we need a center, yes.
Sean Williams isn`t a NBA player, IMO. He is Gerald Green of the centers...

Do the Celtics need Frontcourt help"
Let's see, Glen Davis is piss poor on offense, and piss poor on defense,
but there is no other backup center worth a damn.
Patrick O'Bryant is marginally better offensively but defensively worse than Davis.
Perkins is better, but still not a threat offensively, and consistently outplayed by opponents.
So how do the Celtics win.
By having 4 great starters, All-Star worthy each,
a heck of a shooter off the bench in Eddie House,
an AMAZING defender off the bench in Tony Allen,
a true low post scorer off the bench in Leon Powe,
that as a group,
make up for all the deficiencies of Perk, Davis, O'Bryant, and the pitiful Brian Scalabrine.
Perk and Davis do their job, but the Celtics can count on very little
against Cleveland, LA or San Antonio from the center spot.
So that might be why
Celtic Owner (Wyc Grousbeck) and
Celtic Coach (Doc Rivers)
have recently both been quoted as saying "We need a Big and a Guard."
Now, if the Celtics fail to land these players by the playoffs,
you can expect those quotes to be modified to
"We're good with what we've got" or "We like our team" or something along those lines.

Wait. Is this Mojo Jojo? Because you're stating the obvious that Boston needs help at center and power forward. The makeshift rotation of Davis, Powe and Scalabrine aren't enough and will be a detriment if you rely on them in the playoffs. You can't forget about the contributions and upgrade PJ Brown provided with his veteran leadership and height.
Ainge knows... It's just that I don't see a lot he can acquire with Davis and Powe as his main components in a deal.

Powe and Williams would make a nasty bench front court. With Eddie and Tony in the back court and someone else at the three that can shoot, we'd have a well balanced young bench.

I wonder if we could get a Chris Wilcox, I am not a big fan but since we dont have much to give he might be the caliber of player we could aquire.

I am wondering what it would take to get Earl Watson, I belive I remember hearing they were looking to get rid of him. He is EXACTLY what we need off the bench. He can shoot, distribute the ball and plays tough d. Let gettim DA

Wilcox, Collison, Watson...etc. The issue is with their salaries. Too expensive.
Sean Williams makes sense since his stock is low right now. Unfortunately, it's up to New Jersey and whether or not it's even deem a worthwhile project to Ainge. Williams still brings with him an attitude and work ethic concerns and likely has a low basketball IQ. Garnett would run him off the team if he sees that he isn't pulling his weight.

I use to like Williams but he has really made it hard to even remotely like him.

Re: Do the Celtics need Frontcourt help?
it would be a really big plus if we land a long center who will log minutes for us through trade with powe or big baby. I also want us getting james jones or devean george..
