Right... welcome to the conversation.

...even though NO ONE had mentioned it on this page???

Anyway, this is final...good, at least we get someone out of it...although this could mean we have no chance at Nocioni or Smith...

Don't be so pessimistic, why would it affect Smith? Oh, I guess you mean the roster spot. But Smith gets Cassell's spot, and Solomon gets cut if we get Marbury.

Ok, who knows anything about Solomon? All I know is I've heard him referred to as the type of guy who doesn't belong on an NBA roster...

^^True...I *was* thinking about the roster spots, but we could always waive Solomon...too bad we couldn't waive Davis or Scal if we picked up those other two...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

I havent been impressed at all with Solomon so I hope this was part of something else or insurance for Marbury. I dont want to rely on Solomon coming off the bench in the playoffs.

Rafer Alston goes to the Magic, that was a nice move for the Magic.

I agree he's nothing special, and since we need length and we traded our only other legit 7 footer not named KG, it's puzzling...the bench just got smaller, that's for sure. Hopefully as you said this is a piece of a larger puzzle...

It was in this thread and several people were already discussing that two potential deals and the player we ended up recieving.

I dont know why you are rolling your eyes at me. Maybe read a thread before you just jump in and post 'breaking news.' It was on the wire tap and discussed heavily in the thread before you popped in with your breaking news... hence the statement "welcome to the conversation."

Chris Sheridan: A source tells me the Boston Celtics have agreed to trade Patrick O'Bryant to Toronto for backup point guard Will Solomon. There were reports that O'Bryant was headed to Sacramento, but this deal fills Boston's need for another option at point guard behind Rajon Rondo, Eddie House and Gabe Pruitt, and it gives the Raptors another big body to bring off the bench.

Spears reporting that a 2nd round pick and cash considerations are also involved in the deal but doesn't say where.

You'd keep POB over Davis or Scal? Those guys have limitations and I guess POB's potential could surpass them eventually...but I don't think POB was ever going to contribute. I think this is basically a swap for an expiring contract that can be easily released...but then there are still luxury tax implications! I really don't get taking the Toronto deal over the Sacto one.

I am going to lock this one because it has its own thread now.
