Not to mention I wouldn't be surprised if the Kings immediately bought out Eddie and he came back here after 30 days.... if Eddie was included in the deal.

The bottom line for me is that we need to put together a real playoff roster. That means CONCENTRATING talent in the rotation. It is better to have a guy like Nocioni, who you can play 25 minutes a game, than having dudes who get minutes against team A and don't get them against team B.

Nocioni is a good shooter and a good defender. The Bulls fans were down on him, but the numbers CLEARLY show that the Bulls were MUCH better with him out there than with him on the bench. You have to picture what a guy like him could do in a lineup like ours. Paul and Ray could get a lot more rest, as Noc can play the 3. On a small lineup he has already proven that he can fill in at the 4 spot effectively. Just look at his numbers this season

That is getting it done on teh defensive end for your team. Pay specific atention to the opposing 4's eFG. That is the key stat. The Bulls are a bad team, but Noc was keeping his man sub .500 at the four. Put him on our squad and that number drops, as do his points against.

We are going to need some luck to put a Title worthy playoff lineup out there, but a deal like this could help a ton. You have to picture what a guy like him would do when out there with Rondo, Paul, Ray and K.G. How many GREAT looks he would get at the basket, and how effective he could be in helping them in return. People kind of fell in love with what Scal did for us before the injury. Well, keep in mind that Scal is a poor man's Nocioni.

Hopefully we could bring on Marbury and Smith into the rotation as well, at low money. With a Marbury, House, Noc, Smith, Powe bench we would be able to go toe to toe with anyone'
s bench, especially when you consider the quality of our starting lineup. Maybe it is just a pipe dream, but I'd like to see us get this guy. He is a very good player who would play for us in an 8 man rotation.

Looks to me like management is getting cheap again.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA @ you

Were you lauging when our bench got exposed in two losses to the Lakers this year?

You don't lose two key players (P.J. and Posey) on your championship team and not replace them without money being the issue.

Should've pulled the trigger - but he implies that Sacto pulled out. What a bench that would be with Nocioni/Smith/Marbury/House/Davis/Powe potentially. A shame.

I could still imagine the POB thing expanding into the Nocioni deal when it's finalized.

I don't get Solomon - we can get better guys off the waiver wire. Might as well trade POB to GS.

Damn too bad! I woulda done that trade in a second...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

They were regular season games, come on, if a shot goes in here or there it's a completely different story, it isn't like they blew us out.
And to give Posey a 4yr deal when he clearly isn't worth it would have been a good decision? PJ retired and who was out there we could have replaced him with?

Not only that but the reffing wasn't exactly on the level in either of those games (especially the one in Boston)...we lost to CLE fair and square, but the LAL losses still rankle me...

You are right - money Was the issue (at least with Pose) BUT there is a big difference between being cheap, and being smart with money/cap.

With Posey it was a combination of money and age. Nocioni will be in his prime through the length of his contract. He seems like a great fit, but hey, it's not my money.
I'm just sayin' is all...

Also someone was mentioning on here his salary DECREASES during the life of the contract...it'd be win-win!

Who knows, maybe they will do it anyways. Our hole at the 3 is ENORMOUS, and Nocioni has proven that he can man the 4 in a smaller, floor spreading lineup. Our bench has some serious issues, and he could help shore a few of them up like

1. Back up 3

2. Shooting

3. Floor spreading 4

4. Energy... it's a big attribute of the guy

I just want to hear something about this. I'd really Like Nocioni here, when is there going to be word when this is officially dead like other deals.

Return to Boston Celtics
