Post#1 » by Spin Move » Tue Feb 24, 2009 5:06 am

Who gets the Cigar, Ray with the leading score, Giddons with the D on billups and the 14 8 and 8, Pierce, JR Giddons with his inspirational first NBA point, Leon? I vote for Ray

I voted for Ray as well. Could have gone to anyone, really, but Ray led the team with 26, hit 6 of 11 three-point shots, and was a team-best +30.

I love that Rondo's playing this amazing without KG. Hopefully this gives him more confidence so that when KG's back Rondo's not afraid to look to score.

Rondo, he dissected the Nuggz early and often.

Great to see Giddens in the poll!

I went with Rondo, he has really stepped up on the road with KG out...Obviously Ray was phenomenal again and Pierce was great but I expect that from them...

The whole team played well, it was nice to see our bench contribute and our starters getting some rest...

I went with Ray. Very dominate game from the Celtics.

Great! Ray was trailing Rondo by 1 this morning when I voted but now he's way out front!

Yep, the people who didn't actually watch the game started chiming in.

Ray shot the ball well, but it was Rondo, yet again, who was the key player in our victory. Not only did he dominate the beginning of the game and get us out to a big lead, but he made Chauncey Billups look like a scrub. Seriously, I have never seen Billups look so confused and dejected in a regular season game. Rondo utterly owned him. Rondo cut the head off the snake... the rest was academic.

Ray scored points though. Whooo hooo!!!

^Just because you want to have Rondo's child doesn't mean some of us can't think Ray played better. I think Rondo played a **** hell of an awesome game, I was just impressed more with Ray's blistering shooting.

Ray shot the ball well. Rondo ripped the Nuggs hearts out. There is a difference. Hell, there is a great article on the kid in today's ESPN "Truehoop" section written by a non-Celtics fan praising the kid for what he did.

Rondo's own stats would have been even more impressive if he actually looked for his own shot after the 1st quarter. He had a grand total of ONE field goal attempt after the 1st quarter. It wasn't as if the Nuggs stopped him either. he could have taken plenty more shots if he felt like it. He instead quietly ran the offense and got everyone else involved, while also keeping Chauncey Billups in a very bad place. Billups is the Nuggets main man, yet he looked absolutely awful in that game. Rondo took him out, and the Nuggs offense went with him.

I'm not down on Ray, but he did not outperform Rondo.
