Danny played his cards right
Say what you want about letting Posey go, signing POB, not drafting a big man, etc, etc but when it came time to act Danny made the right moves- AGAIN! Of course Moore and Marbury haven't played a game yet and they could be complete busts but if you look at who was potentially available Danny made the most out of what he had to work with so kudos to Danny for another excellent trading deadline manuver. A few years ago he traded Payton and wound up with Payton coming back and walker. It almost worked but for a Pierce melt down against Indiana. Last year he picked up Sam and PJ who were probably the two biggest gets out there. Moore gives us length and defense and he will help against gasol, Z and some of the other bigs we have to face. Marbury gives us scoring, ball handling and hopefully leadership off the bench- plus he's not afraid to take the big shot. I haven't been enamored of his game for the past few years but if he comes in with the right attitude and is willing to play a role he could be a huge addition for us. Now we have to wait and see if Joe Smith or some other big name shakes free before we know whether Danny hit a home run or a single. Waiting on Smith was too risky . If Cleveland or the Lakers get him then so be it; Danny made the right move by taking the sure thing. Also never underestimate the power of guys who WANT to play for your team versus guys who are neutral or lackluster about it. Both Moore and Marbury want to play for us. Smith has never said he wanted to play for us despite some internet chatter saying he was coming here.
"Now, there's a steal by Bird..!"

I agree. Our organization knows what they are doing. Makes it a whole lot better to root for the team when they aren't penny pinching and aren't idiots.

Re: Danny played his cards right
Not only he played right his cards.
He has signed a sweet shooting big thar would space the court.
A big fast dude who should thrive next to KG and Rondo.
A guy that will give a rest to Baby and let him play as a PF along with Leon.
And this will allow Scal play as a big SF.
If we sign Marbs and he knows his role we can make Eddie our offensive SG while he plays PG on D. I think Marbs is like the uranium. Harmless while low exposure but potentially dangerous.
But overall, it sounds really nice to me.

Re: Danny played his cards right
honestly... i still think Posey was a miss, i know they were concerned about the contract but guys in the last year or 2 are pretty easy to trade if it came to that... and imagine what our bench would be like with Posey AND the guys we just picked up
outside of that though, i think its perfect.. guys like Tyronne Lue were being talked about in the off-season as the best back up options and Danny let them slide, Matt Barnes was one name that i thought we missed out on but thats nothing huge
Waited it out, and as far as i can tell got the perfect compliments to this team right in time to help us coming into the playoffs
Excellent management (is anyone surprised?) by DA
