CAVS HUMILIATED IN HOUSTON - BLOW THE TEAM UP

Post#1 » by exculpatory » Fri Feb 27, 2009 3:33 am

Wow. Awful. 10 in the third quarter!!! Houston without TMac. Gee whiz. Blow the team up. Trade LeBron for Corey Maggette. They just lost HCA because of this. They are no better than Miami.

Absurd, huh? Yes it is. Approximates the absurdity of the reactionary, gloom & doom basketball authorities on this chat board.
SamIam 2010: Truth's ability to play so incredibly efficiently is so UNDERAPPRECIATED. Bballcool 2012: Amazing how great Pierce has been for so long. Continues to defy age! KG 2013: P is original Celtic. Wherever he goes, we go. This is The Truth's house.

I agree. We'll give Cleveland Pruitt for Gibson!!!! The Cavs, like we were after last night's loss to LAC, are done. No way they'll win a title!!!

Im just glad they have a tough road trip coming up (including this game) Spurs tomorrow, the Hawks and Miami in a back to back

In the race for home court every game counts, of course you are going to lose but to drop a game to the clippers was very disappointing

i get your point though

Watched the game...

Amazing job by Artest and Battier on Lebron+Yao under the basket was the recipe how to spot Lebron. Yao played great, he really is the best C in nba.

One down, San Antonio ahead, I hope Duncan plays.

Important note: Wallace broken fibula on right leg, out, probably for season

Just on Artest, while i think we will target Sheed in the off-season Ron could be a nice addition, bat **** crazy sometimes sure, but Lebron and the Cavs are going to be right there again, and with our guys probably slowing a little having someone like Ron to send in and hassle Lebron could do us wonders

Yao completely dominated inside. Much like Gasol and Odom dominated them inside as well. Cavs' glaring weekness: Interior defense. Unfortunately, that is something that the Celtics couldn't exploit despite being one of the top teams in the league in inside scoring. I wonder why.

Yeah, let's bring in Ron & Sheed and then bring back marbury.

...Let's see our bench should be...
Marbury
Tony Allen
Ron Artest
Rasheed Wallace
and ...Dennis Rodman?

Not going to win any awards for good character, but would be awesome if only to hear the other fans whine.

God, would that be the most awesome lineup ever.

I think Wallace does have a realistic chance of coming aboard this summer. The rest? Not so much. Not enough money.

Well, HOU has Battier and Artest to stop Lebron! Two best defenders in the league! We have TA...

Battier >>>>>>>>>>>> any other "top notch" defender in the league. The guy makes Houston so much better when he starts.

They lost to a playoff team. They lost to a team that has two defenders that can make Lebron miss a whole bunch of shots. They lost to a team in which the center dominated the paint. They lost in a game in which Lebron couldn't beg for a dime. They lost in a game in which one of their starters went down.

How is this newsworthy? Lol Tracy McGrady being out would have no bearing. He wouldn't have been effective or the rockets much anyway. They're probably better when he's out and not going 3-13 from the field.

If it's any consolation (on a Celtics board no less...haha), Cleveland won't be facing the Rockets anymore. Neither team is reaching the Finals.

1. The Rockets were able to send 2 capable defenders at Lebron (something we did last season with Posey around). That is why I think the Rockets have a good chance to beat LA, well too bad they lost TMac another time.

2. I wish Doc would have more plays that would give KG good positing down low, even a good shot.

Yeah, but... Boston has lost to Houston when they were without McGrady too. And the game was in Boston.

The more I think about it the more I wouldn't mind if Ainge could attempt to add Artest (unrestricted) this summer to help Pierce guard LeBron in the future. Artest seems like he would be a perfect sixth man on a contending team. Admittedly, I'm not the biggest fan of his but I like defense and he's one of the league's premier defenders at the small forward position. I believe he can guard taller guards and is strong enough to guard power forwards as well. He's a solid rebounder and has improved offensively adding three-point range to his shooting repertoire.

Defending LeBron is overrated. I love Shane Battier and would give up a lot to get him and he is much better defensively than Artest but understand he plays great defense it is not physical talent. He simply has learned from good coaching and good habits and practices how to force guys to taking shots outside of their comfort zone. Pierce does a lot of the same things defensively and while we haven't quite tightened up were the help should and is coming from on LeBron we have some guys in Baby and Powe who fit the bill.

LeBron has started to clean up his outside shot but he lacks that killer mid range game that Pierce and Kobe have. Obviously he can over power you and at home he is very tough to contain you can force him to be a jump shooter and he still isn't a great one on the road.

With Wallace out for a couple of months they should be able to unveil the new Karl Malone in that kid Hickson who really can't help but make them a better offensive team even they will give up some on the defensive end.

Dream on dude... Rockets have no chance against LA.. only 2 teams from the west can give us a tough time...

Portland and Spurs.. Actually Portland right now seems to be the most talented young team in the league.. i am **** scared what it will look like next year..

Rest are not even in the same class as the Lakers..

Cs vs Rockets finals? Book it! Why not? T-Mac is out for the season so naturally the Rockets have to win him a ring.
