Greetings to the glorious fans of the historic celtics of boston hailing from the deliciously epic metropolitan area of the boston located in the state of massachusetts in the states of america united red white & blue and what not.
Simply put, would you guys consider this trade with OKC this summer:
Powe
Pruitt
some player w/a contract you wish to rid yourself of
for
Nick Collison
late 1st rd pick this draft
Watson ($6 mil coming off the books after next season, and he could be a solid contributor next season if marbury doesn't work out)
For those of you that wouldn't do it, how would you tweak it to make it work?
Lets all gather 'round a table, eat some strawberry swirl cheesecake, wash it down with chateau bordeaux and talk about it, k? k, thanx!
Dear glorious Celtic fans, would u do this trade w/OKC?

Tricky,
Well Powe is who I saw as the main piece we want coming back to us. I wouldn't substitute Large Baby for him, but might consider him thrown into the mix.

I'd take that deal. One of Powe and and Baby likely won't be resigned anyway. Also considering that Powe hasn't improved his game since coming into the league, I'd say he's probably reached his ceiling. Who would go with him and Pruitt though? Could we send a 2nd round pick?

So why are you guys so willing to give up powe? Just out of curiosity.
I understand that he has more than likely reached his ceiling, but when I watch you guys he seems like a solid PF off the bench that can come in and be a difference maker off the bench.
What are his pros and cons?

This makes no sense. Collison and Watson will make 13 million next season.
If we resign Powe for 3 million we still need to add 8 million to make the numbers work. Scal+TA+House would be enough but they are all expiring, so they have big value...
We have no need for Watson. He can`t shoot and is small. And paying a backup PG 6 million per year just doesn`t make sense...
I also don`t see us paying Collison 13 million over 2 years as a backup when we can maybe get someone like Wallace for the MLE...

I think Collison has a chance but I don't see Watson as an option.
Doing a S&T with Leon is going to be hard because he makes so little money right now that his BYC status makes things pretty complicated.
Leon is strong as a bull and can score and get to the line and rebounds like it is food.
But the dude is short he is about 6'7" and hasn't shown a ton of range to his game, that would improve if he could get more mins but that is the real issue we have this guy name Garnett that ties up a ton of mins at the PF spot.
My guess would be that Boston will try and keep him around on the cheap. He would be a good fit in OKC with Durant Green who are long but could use a banger.

Re: Dear glorious Celtic fans, would u do this trade w/OKC?
I like powe better than collison so no I wouldn't do that deal. I also like Gabe's upside and while watson has always been a nice player he's not worth 6M even if it's only for a year. Seattle/okc is in the same boat Boston was a few years ago- lots of young talent but no veteran leadership and no one to show them how to win. From OKC's POV I don't think you want to get younger so I don't know why you would do that deal. You guys need to take some of your young assets ( anyone other than Durant) and swing a deal for a star player- Bosh or someone like that

There are some interesting players at the late first pick OKC has:
Tyler Hansbrough
Sam Young
Ty lawson
Could Ainge find a sleeper or a Powe replacement with this pick?
