See you on Friday---I actually have a lot of sympathy for the Cavs fans----they've been put through hell for a LONG time---I liked the old teams with Price/Harper/Ehlo-----but that team ALWAYS had injuries when it counted the most-!!

This is too funny, Boston fan complaining about LeBron getting calls?

Paul Pierce gets too many calls, he is a good actor, refs give him freebies all the time!

In todays game, calls went both ways, Cavs had 24 ft attempts and Hawks had 31 attempts!

It seems like every fan thinks that his/her team keeps getting cheated by the officials, as a Cavs fan, I feel the same sometimes, LeBron is BIG and STRONG, its hard to stop him, so basically teams foul him EVERY time he takes it to the hoop, but refs can't call all those fouls, they mostly call the ones that are mostly obvious!

I agree sometimes he might get a superstar call(before halftime) once in a while, but most of the time they are legit.
Stop claiming that the NBA i s fixed and they want to see LeBron and Kobe in the finals...
If thats true, they could have done that in game 7 of the Cavs vs Celtics game last year.....
To be honest, if the legaue is indeed fixed, I think they would rather see the Lakers vs Celtics again, to show the Lakers take revenge on the Celtics with Bynum and Ariza.

So, stop blaming everything on the officials and start appreciating the game!! Give LeBron some credit :P! Cya in the ECF Celtics fans! Opps Also, we have to more match ups before that! so, cya Friday!?

When there's money to be made, I always consider the possibility of a conspiracy. (just ask bldg. 7 ;)) And no, our rings last year aren't questionable to me. They were fine with Celtics/Lakers finals and tried to let them play out however. When a team is in a must win game and loses by 40, it's tough to argue for that team.

And when a guy cuts in front of you and gives more effort than you off of a jump ball on the biggest play of both their lives, you have to look in the mirror for the fraud.

you have heard of tim donaghy, right. the corrupt ref from philly. i love how fans of players who always get the call say don't blame the refs. get this thru your head. the league has been fixed ever since stern took over. it's not a question. there is someone actually spending time in jail because of it. stern is a typical new york crook.

We get calls all the time. Nothing to see here. P2 flails his way to the line plenty of times per game.

Could Cavs fans please stop trolling on our board? You don't realize how annoying it is. Thank you.

If someone starts a thread complaining about a Cleveland game here on the Cs board, you have to expect Cavs' fans to respond. As long as they are respectful, it is not trolling.

Also, regarding the refs or the NBA in general, it is very difficult to watch overall. If the Cs are not playing, I don't watch the NBA. Poor officiating, poor offensive sets, poor defense, and too much glitter, noise, and annoying announcers. I understand I grew up in an era where the game was the most important element. But now, with high salaries, agents, etc... it is just a business and I am OK with that, but I am not a fan of the NBA anymore. Celtics, absolutely! NBA, not until they get back to the actual game rather than NBA 2K9

I'm in complete agreement that the refs are absolutely terrible. As for reffing the game with an agenda, I'm not convinced. 99% of the games I've ever seen I feel like the Celtic's are getting hosed on the calls, even when we are 2-1 in free throw attempts, yet I know this is perception. Piss poor calls go both ways every game, sometimes one team gets the worst of it, sometimes the other, but the difference is we remember the ones that happen to our beloved C's, and forget the ones that happen to our opponents. The more you believe the refs are out to get you, the more you see it happening, whether it is or not. You want proof, start reading every board, every fan base thinks the refs are hosing them at one point or another. That doesn't mean I think all the refs are on the up and up, or that superstars like LeBron, Pierce, and Kobe don't get special treatment, or that they don't pick on guys with a rep like Sheed or Perk, but this whole league wide conspiracy thing is nonsense. This isn't the CIA, the sooner or later a disgruntled, morally superior, or financially strapped ex-nba employee would write a Canseco-esque tell-all book exposing the whole thing. Why is it that people are starting to think that Stern wants to see Cleveland-Lakers so bad? Celtics-Lakers is probably even more profitable, last years rating were the highest in years and both teams have nation wide fanbases. I'm sure he's got a hard on for either match up.

Last of all, all these threads crying about games the Celtics aren't even in just makes our board look like a bunch of whiny cry babies. So thanks for that.

Stop bitching. Geez. Every team gets screwed or helped out by the refs. It's not just the Celtics getting screwed and every other team getting every call. As long as they all even out at the end, I have no complaints and they all do. So stop being such bitches!

Was it a bad call? Sure it was, but I'm sure it went the other way as well during the game. IMO the refs have been horrible this season, but that is still no reason to think there is a fix on it either. Time to stop complaining about them as well.

Every night there is another call to bitch about, it gets pretty old. While I admit the refs have been bad, it's not always there fault in a C's lose or a Cavs/Lakers win.

The reality is simply that NBA referees are instructed how to call the game for certain players. There is no question that players like Lebron, Kobe, Pierce, Wade, etc. get the overwhelming benefit of the doubt in most 50/50 scenarios. The play with Horford was a 50/50 judgment call and in those instances Lebron will get the call more than not. Now say if that was KG rather than Horford it might have been a no-call. That's just the way the NBA is set up.

As bad-thoma also pointed out, it's also clear that certain guys are the target's of foul calls for refs. For instance, illegal screens are rampant in the NBA, in almost every offensive set there is an illegal screen but disproportionately those fouls are called against inexperienced (Read: Guys who haven't earned the refs "respect") such as Perk, Powe, and Davis.

I don't believe the NBA is rigged per se but it's clear that certain players are more likely to draw the favor of the refs, with Lebron and Kobe tops on the list, while other players are more likely to draw negative attention from refs. This has a HUGE impact on the game and IMO it spoils the purity of the sport. When refs focus more on what they're "supposed" to call it takes away from their ability to actually "see" what's happening.

I agree except that Pierce has always been and continues to be a star who gets shockingly few calls, although it's been better the last few seasons. I don't like the "star system" at all...either call it the same for everyone or GTFO, refs...:censored:
It's still 17 to 11!!!!
