Walker played a few minutes last night and held his own...He also finished once on a nice feed from Marbury...

Their second unit looked decent considering all the new players...

Doc's problem with giving Walker mins is he likes winning. When he puts Walker on the floor instead of Pierce bad things happen, it isn't particularly Bill's fault but he has a staggering -23 in 73 mins, that can't feel good as a coach.

I love Walker and think he will be a legit NBA ball player, but he is as raw as an NBA player can be these days. Even now he impacts the game and makes things happen but the combo of his lack of experience combined with not having PP on the floor is pretty brutal at this point.

For the next two months what I would like to see Doc do is sit Paul early (which he hates) and insert Walker with the ones and live with the bumps and have Pierce play with Marbs/House/Baby/Moore and try and straighten out that second unit. We just need it to hold together for 5-7 mins a game but we do need that unit to hold together.

Another addition I would like see Doc make with an eye towards CLE and ORL, is to start having Powe defend the 3 just so we have somebody who can at least make sure that when LeBron is fouled he is fouled and if you can force the same matchup on the other end he can go to work on the body a little bit with the King. Obviously figuring out how to do all these things over a 20 game span and still win is Doc's problem.
