Dark horses once again?
Hey yo!
Many Celts fans have already pressed the panic button but I think we should wait till playoff time.
1.- Marbs and Moore are not thrilling. That's true, but they are just minor additions to this team. They are not saviors.
2.- KG, Rondo, Scal, Tony, BBD are injured and we are struggling, so what?. Just think of LA without Pau, Ariza, Odom, Bynum and Fisher or Cavs without Mo, Delonte, Varejao, Wallace and Z.
3.- This is a depleted team is fighting EVERY SINGLE night. They have not given up. This makes me really proud.
4.- Nowadays who's better than us in the East? Cavs, Magic(?), who else? And in the West? LA, SA?
5.- If there's a team that historically always overcomes expectations this is Boston.
6.- So you REALLY think KG, Rondo, Paul, Ray, Perk, Powe and the boys are going to just fade away without a fight?
Oh, boy!! I can't hardly wait for that Sweet Chin Music!!!!
Any thoughts? Kind regards.

I agree. If we had just run thru the league to 66 wins again I'm not sure we'd have had the motivation. these guys play best when they are the underdogs, when folks count them out. they don't play well with the pressure of being faves. look at last year, we were faves in the first two series and played terrible. in the last two we were 'dogs and we kicked ass.
We will go in to the playoffs as probably the 3rd or 4th pick to win a title this year (Cavs/Lakers are 1 and 2, and Spurs are 3). that suits me fine. these guys are battle tested, they know what they have to do. as long as everyone is healthy we're going to be a helluva tough out.

This belief that Home Court Advantage is EVERYTHING to us, stems from last year's first two rounds of the playoffs---But, I think the Celtics knew they didn't NEED to win on the road---only when they lost at home to Detroit, did they HAVE to win on the road--and they DID---Twice in Detroit and once in LA (and they didn't HAVE to win there).....Sure it would be nice to have HCA again--but it isn't as necessary as everyone is panicking about----As long as we get healthy, we should make it out of the East.

Ignore the negativity because in the end its all non-sense. They're no better then the so-called 'analysts & experts' who stated we wouldn't get passed CLE->DET->LA last year(even get swept by LA
). It's almost like some of the so-called 'fans' on here are predicting the Celtics will fade away quickly if we don't get HC.

Thanks OP, I was just thinking this today. If we don't get homecourt advantage, it doesn't matter how we win in the first few rounds. We will be underdogs whether it be against the Cavs or the Lakers. Perfect.

There's no way the defending champs (who will win 60+ games) will be underdogs in any series...And "again" ?? When were they underdogs before with this group ? The finals ? If that's the case, it was due to their play to begin with...
The Celtics will be the favorites in every east series they play...If you believe otherwise, you're just kidding yourselves...

Re: Dark horses once again?
^Gee, an opposing team poster as the turd in our punchbowl...what a surprise!
Anyway, I agree with the sentiment, the C's fans who are giving up on it all because we may not have HCA throughout the playoffs are ridiculous...it's as if they think EVERY TEAM that's ever won a title had HCA....or else they have 0% faith in THIS team that they can do it...sad...

It's still 17 to 11!!!!

What are you talking about? We were by far the best team last season and pretty much every expert though lakers were going to win the finals.

This season again experts will pick CLE and LA to beat us but I don`t mind. Let them win on paper, we will win on the court...

Re: Dark horses once again?
Lakers deserve to be favourites.
Cleveland and Boston are as good as each other, in expert's views.
It's silly to say anyone will consider the C's a dark horse. They're too good.
The only series which we'll probably be under dogs is: vs the Cavs in ECF and the finals against the Lakers [if we make it], and rightfully so for both series.
However I'm much more confident the C's can handle the Cavs than the Lakers.

I think everyone remembers last season when we were in fact underdogs to the Lakers in the finals. Shows how much people know about odds and favorites. I still think if we come back near 100% healthy we are very difficult to beat in a 7 games series. I think Mikki and Marbury will be just fine come playoff time. We need to take care of business tonight and get back on track. Games like Memphis at home are trap games given the way we have played of late. I have faith.

Re: Dark horses once again?
Did anyone else have a gut feeling before the season that no matter how the regular season went, the media and fans alike would again not paint us as underdogs to win the title? We are just not a popular team. Pierce is a terrible superstar from a media/marketing sense. He doesn't Ooze charisma. Mark my words, everyone will say its gonna be LBJ vs Kobe for the title and then we will win it once again... And next year they again will not give us credit.
