I think Granger is kind of a slap the dude was just as good last season, I understand waiting a year on All Star or MVP voting but I don't think MIP is an award you want a year late.

Ariza would seem to be spot on for the award. It will help him with the embarrassment that Pierce and the C's are going to lay on his Fakers in the Finals. Keep letting the streamers and confetti fly for regular season wins and make sure you have the balloons in the rafters.
Will Rondo gets any votes for MIP?

Re: Will Rondo gets any votes for MIP?
I was going to say Harris right off the start but to be honest they all are deserving.
Rondo has managed to increase his stats in FG%, 3pt%, FT%, RPG, APG, SPG and PPG. In fact he's pretty much gone up in every category.
Danny Granger was already pretty much a 20 point scorer last year. The only thing Harris is doing is scoring a bit more.
Could be Millsap. He has done a lot better since last year.
I don't think it's that far-fetched to suggest Rondo could be inline for some votes.

Wow, your ignorance knows no bounds, does it? Rondo is as good as those guys in his own way...I'd put them all on equal footing...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

The thing about Harris is that he completely mailed it in defensively this year. If he had kept his same numbers as in Dallas but also played the same defense, NJ would be in the playoffs. He will still likely get it but it sends sort of a bad message. If Rondo doesn't get it then I think Granger would deserve it more.

Have to watch Sacramento up here, but Spencer Hawes sucked last year this year, and he's much better now. He probably wont get any votes for being on the worst team in the league though but he deserves a little credit from coming from crappy to good as I heard.

Rondo should get some votes. Rondo has increased his scoring and from 10.6 to 12.2. He has increased his assists from 5.1 to 8.4. Rondo is also shooting 51% from the field, getting 5.2 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game. Rondo has also improved his FT shooting from 61% to 65%.
Rajon's ranking in the league:
1st in FG% for PG's
5th in steasl.
7th in the league in assists.
IMO, Rondo is one of the top 8 pg's in this league. You couldn't say the same thing about him last year. It doesn't really matter if he gets votes for MIP. He is a top tier PG in this league. I'm glad he is on our team.

Re: Will Rondo gets any votes for MIP?
I don't know about MIP but I'm predicting that he'll be the Eastern playoffs MVP. I think Rondo really has the opportunity to steal the show in the Playoffs. His full game at the highest level will be electrifying on the big stage. He's certainly been the MVP for the Celtics since KG went down with the knee strain.
All these awards are so subjective anyways. Leading your team to victory is the only thing of real meaning.

I feel it's all anti-Rondo, anti-Boston sentiment among fans outside of Massachusetts. And it stinks. How Rondo gets criticized and overlooked by the majority of national fans is appalling. But, Rondo keeps shutting up his detractors with every game that he has shown a better and more matured Rajon Rondo. I say, Parker and those national fans can go somewhere. I for one appreciate having a player this talented in Rondo as the starting point guard for the defending NBA champions Boston Celtics. I mean I'd rather be talking about Rondo getting any acknowledgment when we talk about the most improved players this season than to be a lottery bound team discussing their team's chances of possibly drafting Rubio.

He'll get some votes but won't come close to winning, nor should he though ... Harris, and Granger have been great! Durant too!

Yeah, winning the award is a different story. However, I'm just talking about him even getting some votes, some mention.
Still, Rondo has a good head on his shoulders and regular season accolades and an All-Star nod are even less important to him compared to winning a NBA championship. Why dwell on things that aren't of your control? Focus more on what you can control as a player: Qualifying for the playoffs and finding success. I don't understand why a player would stress over an individual player's award. You should leave that to your team's fans.

"I should be in the running, but I'm sure I'll get looked over," Granger said. "They'll probably give it to somebody else."
The Pacers media relations staff plans to help Granger win the award.
The Pacers, who would be eliminated from playoff contention with a loss tonight at Oklahoma City, plan to send a letter from team president Larry Bird to media members who vote for the award explaining why Granger should be considered.
The winner will be announced during the playoffs.

Again, takeout the overrated scoring, and Rondo's statistics are better except for free throw percentage. Actually, Harris' statistics aren't that much better from last season. Most people are just looking at his hike in scoring this season.
SI's season-ending award picks include the first of what is likely to be many MVPs for the ever-improving James
Chris Mannix
MOST IMPROVED
Devin Harris, G, Nets In the off-season New Jersey redesigned its offense around the speed and penetration of last year's trade deadline acquisition, and he has delivered, with averages of 21.8 points and 7.0 assists; the only players with better numbers in both those categories are James, Wade, and Paul. Harris's 7.0 jump in points per game from last season is the highest in the league. Runner-up: Paul Millsap, F, Jazz
