Ray Allen Suspended 1 game

Ray Allen of the Boston Celtics has been suspended one game without pay for elbowing Cleveland Cavaliers forward Anderson Varejao in the groin, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations.

The incident occurred with 5:05 remaining in the third quarter of the Celtics 107-76 loss to the Cavaliers at Quicken Loans Arena on Sunday, April 12.

Allen will serve his suspension tonight when the Celtics visit the Philadelphia 76ers at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, PA.

It was worth it. Ray gets much needed rest.

Not saying I condone what he did, but it's a win win situation. Ray gets some rest and the flopping clown got a nut shot.

Good thing the game is meaningless, and TA and Marbury can use the extra minutes anyway.

This would have hurt had the game meant anything though.

Hope Baby is able to give them some minutes tonight. I'd like to see Leon play tonight, but just not HAVE to play major minutes. With 4 bigs playing instead of 3, Doc can keep all their minutes at a reasonable level.

It's not Ray's fault. He was only checking to see if AV is male or female because Brazil is a captial for transexuals.

Now, if they could only orchestrate it tonight so that Pierce, Perk, and Rondo get 1 game suspensions and miss tomorrow nights game, the Celtics would be all set.

Doesn't really hurt the Celtics. Surprised he didn't get more than 1 game.
