Bulls or Sixers?

Post#1 » by Red2 » Wed Apr 15, 2009 9:00 pm

Strangely enough our 1st round opponent is still up for grabs and while it sure looks like the Sixers , if they were to win tonight in Cleveland ( without Lebron and who knows who else) and if toronto beats the Bulls then we'd play the Bulls. The Bulls may actually prefer a KG less Celtic team to a Magic team with Dwight Howard and a bunch of 3 point shooters. The Bulls beat us in the last game and like Atlanta ( and Philly) they have a lot of athletes who can get up and down the floor. I think we can beat either the Bulls or the Sixers even without KG but tonight should be interesting. Personally I'd rather see us play the SIxers. Rose has really come on and he would give us some problems. The Sixers will hurt us if we don't rebound and get back in transition but they are a poor outside shooting team and while they may steal a game or even 2 I just don't see them beating us. Chicago versus Orlando is not a gimme for Orlando and while the Magic are clearly favored I would not be shocked to see the Bulls win that series were it to happen. I also like the fact that Cleveland has to get by an aging but proud and experienced Piston team as well as the Heat or Hawks both of whom could give the Cavs fits. Dwayne Wade in a 7 game series can win 2 games all by himself

should of added a poll.

I pick CHI because

1) We're going to beat CHI or PHI in 4/5/6 games.

2) CHI big men are finesse rather then Reggie Evans or Dumblerbert or even Spriets who is just young and therefore thinks he needs to play physically. Finesse big men like Ty Thomas, Brad Miller, and Tim Thomas will leave our bigs and Rondo alone physically; and let Powe and KG ease back into rhythm.

I think the Celtics can beat either team with relative ease but if I were to choose one, I'd take the Bulls as well. They don't have an interior threat and with the way the Celtics' defense take care of the perimeter, they should be able to shut down Gordon and Rose. The only thing I'd pay closer attention is the transition defense since the Bulls are one of the better teams off the fast break. As long as the Celtics take care of that, the series should end in no more than 5 games.

I haven't seen either team play aside from games against us, but I was under the impression that the bulls were clearly a better team than the sixers. Am I wrong? It doesn't make a lot of difference and I see the point about the bigs but I'm still hoping for Philly.

I guess I want the bulls only in-as-much as it means our nba home court season record doesn't have to be shared.

Philly has been bad the last few weeks and chicago has been very good, they are a dangerous team, i dont want to face the bulls in the first round, we can beat philly without kg dont know about chicago.

^^^ Agreed, the Bulls have one of the better records in the league recently where as the Sixers have been struggling. Plus Chicago beat us recently.

So give me the Sixers.

Let Orlando take on the headache of facing the Bulls. Gordon and Salmons are two players who are capable of erupting for 30 or 40 points. The Sixers don't have anybody capable of doing that. And let's not forget Derrick Rose, who even though is a rookie, is more than capable of taking over the 4th quarter of any game. I'll take the Sixers all day, every day.

The Bulls are the last team I would want the Cs to play in the play-offs. But I'm watching the Cavs/76ers game right now and it looks like Philly is going to win. So we will get the Bulls. I hate this match-up for the Cs. I hope KG is going to play but I heard he is going to be out

“Im in love with his game He plays hard, he’s quick, athletic.Watching him helps me out. He’s a quiet guy like me, so we kind of clicked. He’s a great player. He’s the point guard of the future and I love the way he plays the game.”

I talked a lot of smack to the Magic fans on their board, but I have wayy too much respect for your team to do that, plus i would sound like an idiot because i really don't have that much confidence in this series.
Best of luck to the Celtics, hopefully this could be a good learning experience for an upcoming superstar in Derrick Rose, and hopefully the "baby bulls" can get a a first hand look at how the defending champs do it. best of luck to you guys.
