Thoughts on Cavs & LA

Post#1 » by Al-Haqq » Thu Apr 30, 2009 10:09 am

The Cavs just look like they're on a mission and no one will stop them. LeBron and co took care of the Pistons easily.

LA took care of the Jazz. They have so much offensive power.

Looks clear that they're both destined for a battle in June.

Just wondering what your thoughts are on both teams?

I think unless the C's face the Cavs in the ECF, the Cavs will sail to the title. LA has a harder road to the Finals but will probably make it. Either way whoever comes out of the East will smoke whoever comes out of the West, is my prediction.
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

I think LA beats the Cavs in the finals. They have better bigs, better defense, and have a top notch superstar of the caliber of LeBron. They match well, and they OWNED them in the regular season. Plus LeChoke seems to fold under pressure, while Kobe has been there, done that...and on head to head matchups LeBron doesn't play very well vs LA..but that's just me...

BTW...we kill both if KG and Powe are healthy...but oh well...next year we get em...

I think if the Cavs face the Lakers there is NO WAY the league will let LeBron lose this time. Also, I don't want to see the Lakers win banner #10!

He will get his calls. But I just think LA has more talent on that team than the Cavs. Kobe sure as hell won't lose 2 straight titles just like that...but deezam..Lakers only got 9 titles?

Anyone would look like they were on a mission if they played the Pistons in the 1st round. Let's see what happens in Round 2.

This is a pretty irritating topic to include on the Celtics board when our team is still in the playoffs and it looks like there's a decent chance that KG will be coming back.

The way Utah and Detroit have played, I'm not surprised they'd win easily. I've felt for most of the season Cleveland will win the Championship, and I'm sticking with my prediction.

I've always felt regardless of the team the Championships should stay in the city. They won 5 in Minneapolis so they should stay in Minneapolis. New fans, new emblem, new uniform, new name. It's basically a new team. I'd agree that they've only won 9. It depends on how you look at things.

True true...I agree...I didn't know they had won 5 as Minneapolis though...I thought it was way less than that... :)

One way to irk just about *any* Lakers fan is to remind them they only have 9 titles

To the poster who said CLE only looks like they're on a mission because Detroit was so bad...did you watch them this regular season??? :o :o :o

I think LA is sort of vulnerable esp. if they play Denver. I just have a hard time imagining them winning getting so little production out of the PG position and possibly the C position too.

Nope. Regardless of the teams I'll always look at it this way. My understanding is that it was only when the Lakers were approaching Boston's 16 that they finally recognized those won in Minneapolis. Is this true?

Absolutely. I remember back in the 1980s when the Lakers were winning and it was always "going for #4!! going for #5!! going for #6!!!" Even when Kobe and Shaq won their first it was "Lakers win title #7!!!" Of course once they won their 9th they decided to raise the banner for the Minny ones in LA and count them...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!
