Red

Thank you very much for your thoughtful comments. You are clearly NOT in the disgusting pathetic group of losers, bashers, blamers etc that I described a couple of pages ago in this thread who make me want to find somewhere else to go to share the joy of being a celtics fan.

I agree with most of what you posted. Paul is very very fatigued. Remember, he carried the team, averaged almost 25 ppg, took alot of abuse and logged a ridiculous amount of minutes after KG went down. Although he has averaged close to 24 ppg during the first 6 games, he does not consistently have his usual lift, and he is not playing the solid D that he has played for the last 2 seasons in particular (Salmons ate him up last night for the most part - although half of Salmon's points did not come when Paul was guarding him). He has only looked really comfortable in Game 3 when he shot lights out and won the game for us, and in Q4 and OT in Game 5 when he scored close to 20 and hit 5-6 straight Js to tie the game in regulation and win the game in OT.

By the way, Kefa, Red, SamIam, Bru etc, how do you tolerate that group I described 2 pages ago in this thread - these bandwagon morons so quick to blame, bash, criticize etc?
SamIam 2010: Truth's ability to play so incredibly efficiently is so UNDERAPPRECIATED. Bballcool 2012: Amazing how great Pierce has been for so long. Continues to defy age! KG 2013: P is original Celtic. Wherever he goes, we go. This is The Truth's house.

First of all exculpatory, I am no PP hater! He is a phenomenal player. What I write in these game threads it is just out of frustration...because I expect so much more from this team and the players...

And please don`t insult me with putting me in a group of bandwagoners. I watched 80% of all the games in the last 3 years live in the middle of the night from 1 AM to 4 AM...I doubt there are many more hard core fans...

I will be here and support my team even if we win 20 games again or if we have 15 Scals on this team...for you I wouldn`t be so sure...

From a financial standpoint it would be nice for the Celtics to win game 7 so I don't see why people say they don't care whether the team wins. I don't think Orlando is playing all that well either so I'm optimistic for the next series if they make it that far.

As I said way earlier in the thread, the negativity in here really does suck. Our boys played their hearts out last night and the blame game going around was disgusting. We claim to be the best fans in the nba yet we are acting more like those sixers "fans". Stop insulting the players who let it all out on the floor last night and support them for game seven.

COME ON LET'S SHOW THEM OUR FAMOUS ATMOSPHERE.

Guys, c'mon, you know I'm not a Celtic hater, I love this team and almost never blame them for anything. But there *were* some breakdowns last night that cost us the game and IT IS OK to talk about them, at least in a reasonable manner...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

Exculpatory nailed it. Too bad if the shoes fits. In many cases he described, it fits very well.....

Pretty poor representation of C's fans here, very disappointing to see.

So we can never criticize anything the team does? Idiotic...

God please let one team win but in the process break all the legs and noses of all the starters on each team,
My 2 cents is worth 5 cents.

That response is pathetic. Oldest cop-out in the book and it wasn't a good one the first time, let alone the millionth.

There is a definite line between reasonable objectivity and unbridled negativity. What's the matter, you can't figure out one from the other? Weak, weak sauce. And since you've just decided to take up the cause of all the transplanted pink hats, fair-weather fannies and bandwagon hoppers, I've gotta ask the standard question: how long have you been riding the bandwagon, MyUnsatisfiableOne?

lol @ "Who are you?" Do you want my resume or is that rhetorical?

You know it's one thing to say you're a diehard, it's another entirely for your actions to represent it. Saying one while not backing up the other only makes one more of a fraud.

I'll quote you game stats of Walter McCarty, Dino Radja, Orien Greene or Jiri Welsch from memory if you'd like, but that would sweep the issue at hand under the rug. People just need to stop acting like weak-willed, spoiled little children and support their damn team, if it really is their team. Yes, balanced criticism is fine, and no, you don't have to be an eternal optimist either. However, unfaltering, irrational negativity that serves no purpose but to stifle a reasonable discourse is a waste of everyone's time, even your own. See the difference? (Probably not).

FYI, I read through these boards regularly (and have for years) because there's a small cross section of posters opinions I respect and look forward to reading. But the rest of the lot, to me, are utterly worthless. Too many threads diluted with hysteria, lack of general knowledge and embarrassing biases swinging in every direction. Now I expect that on the general board, but here? Man, some of you guys are falling off BIG TIME and need a boot in the pants to remember who you are. If you say you've been here before, than act like it. That's all I'm sayin'.

Oops, what am i saying? Sorry to get so carried away, didn't mean to go pulling a threadjack. Carry on with the crucifixions, it really is very engaging material. On the eve of a Game 7, no less, yeah, GREAT timing. And I'm the one who hasn't been through this before?

In response to those that responded to my lengthy post a couple of pages ago in this thread:

Birdman: Thank you for acknowledging that Paul is a phenomenal player. Please try to control your frustrations within game. Please do not become a member of the lunatic, irrationally negative, basher, blamer moron fringe (you know who I am talking about). I have watched 95% of Celt games ever since NBA League Pass became available since I do not have access to Comcast in New England. I have been a Celtic fanatic since the days of Hondo, Cowens and Jo Jo through thick and thin.

34Celtic34: Beautiful pithy restatement of what I said.

Dunk on Face: I loved your 2 recent posts. Please post more in the future. You said that I nailed it and you nailed it as well just as eloquently. Constructive criticism (hopefully accompanied by positive realism) is one thing - irrational, absurd, perpetual, neverending, immature negativity, bashing and blaming sucks the joy out of this board, and personally nauseates me. I wish I had the time and IT ability to start my own board and invite people like you, SamIam, GuyClinch and many other solid posters, and eliminate the frigging imbeciles I described above and in my original post a couple of pages ago.

Just in case this hasn't been posted... I'd like to remind TA that he should make sure that he upholds his tradition of eating of Salmons before every game. Maybe this would turn things around a bit next game.

Irrational negativity reached new low on this board in the last few months and made coming here less enjoyable. But you can always just skip the posts from "the biscuits" or put them on ignore...

Though one thing that will always be a part of a game thread is a reactionary behaviour. When you are a fan and you love your team you show emotions and that is completely normal. Sometimes it obviously goes overboard but I think we have all gotten used to it by now...

I can't stand that group. They are quitters man...they quit on the team after every loss, and it's pathetic. This one guy with a 'cricket' avatar talks so much absurd ****, it's just unbelievable. I mean..Joe is pretty damn bad..but his predictions aren't as bad as what that guy says. It's sad really...People just forget all that Pierce did and say he is old and cooked, when he is out there busting his ass to try and win us some games. I swear, after every game I feel like just leaving this forum...the things that some guys say is just sad. But I don't because I think about Kefa, Red, you and the real fans that post here, that never quit on this team...we need to battle these bandwagon fools man..Til the last breath homie...
WHAT THEY GON’ SAY NOW? ‎ THANK YOU TRUTH!
