Parker's a shooting guard. Hill wants to retire a Sun. Artest desires to resign with Houston, I think he will. Ariza hates Boston. Enough said. Pass on Marion. He didn't want to be traded to Boston a few years ago, so why would he suddenly want to sign here as a free agent? Ainge could've signed Barnes last year, he was available for a while. I think Miami really likes Moon. Does Boston already have a similar player in Walker? I'm uncertain about Odom. He's talented and versatile, but if the Lakers want him back. He'll probably resign there. And I don't know enough about Udoka. Spurs might have an interest in retaining him.

Wally Szczerbiak, Rodney Carney, Desmond Mason and Cedric Simmons are free agents as well.

But, if the idea is to get a long small forward who's capable of defending the position. Then you probably won't find him in free agency. Trading for him is likely the way to go. People have mentioned Prince and Diaw but their contracts are pricey. James Jones or Outlaw are cheaper alternatives.

Marion didn't want to be traded to Boston because they were the worst team in the NBA, and Boston wanted an extension signed before he came, how can you blame him for saying no to that at the time.

I don't know how we would do it but I would love to bring him to this team.

Guys usually go where the best money is... So plenty of those guys COULD be available. It depends on the market.

You, of course, realize that Nocioni is a 3 point shooting undersized PF who, when played at SF, records fouls at lightspeed trying to unsuccessfully defend quicker players, which he does by colliding with them to slow up their forward progress, but also resulting in another foul.

At PF, he's also undersized on the block. So, aside from his agressiveness, his strongest assets are 3 point shooting ability (can spread the floor), not afraid to crash the boards, not afraid to box out, not afraid to bang. For all those admirable qualities, the man is not worth $7 million per year.

I agree that Nocioni is foul-prone and slow-footed defensively, but he's also pretty versatile offensively and he can beat up on big 3's pretty good. If we could get him for Scal, TA and Giddens, all inferior players with expiring contracts, I'd take him. I wouldn't mind Wally Z either, if his old feud with KG wouldn't get in the way.

Nocioni would fill a very important need. Let Walker try to be the backup SF. Nocioni to replace Scal's role of being the 3 pt. shooting PF and a guy who could be asked to guard Hedo or Lewis.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

i like Nocioni.... but I seriously doubt DA trades for a guy who is making 7 mill who will probally only play about 15 minutes a game.

I like Udoka and Barnes.

Good size, solid shooters. Barnes is more athletic but Udoka is smarter and better defender. Both should come pretty cheap.
