Re: Celtics interested in Willie Green?
I live in Philly and I've seen a lot of Willie Green and I don't want him. He's a better shooter than Tony allen but otherwise they're very similar. TOny is a better driver and a better defender so I don't see this as an upgrade at all. we need a shooter with size who can come off the bench and spread the floor. Willie Green is not the answer. Heck, I'd rather see what giddens can do instead of willie green. Plus like Tony he has had major reconstructive surgery on his knee
"Now, there's a steal by Bird..!"

Willie Green has been playing alongside Andre Iguodala who is generally more than likely to be assigned the best wing.

Didn't Willie Green average more shots than points a year ago? Anyways, he's a good shooter and would be a solid back up for Ray.

If thats the case, I dont get it and actually am calling it bogus, since Philly wouldnt have a reason to not do this deal. He's better offensively than Tony and Giddons, but doesnt play defense at all at a high level.

This trade would be about trying to improve the bench but most importantly freeing up roster spots in order for you to do something else. If doing this trade means the Celtics have roster spots to bring in Grant Hill, McDyess and Kidd then I'm all for it.
You don't look at one move by itself but rather by how it fits into the entire plan.

I guess, but we can just let Pruitt walk for a roster spot....
Look, Im not saying the deal is AWFUL. If the staff feels that Tony simply needs to move on, and Walker is "the guy" over Giddons, then a player dump for a backup 2 would be OK on our end ... I just dont see why philly doesnt bite on this.

I'm not saying it should happen because on the surface it looks awful but maybe there would be another reason for the trade if it happened.

TA is better than Willie Green. At least TA knows he can't shoot.

Re: Celtics interested in Willie Green?
^ This could be the case...I mean, TA can be a complete bonehead on the court sometimes, but I think I would take the solid D and limitations on offenese over Greens overall game.
I've unfortunatly been forced to watch more sixers games than anyone should, and in doing so, I watched this guy quit on Cheeks, the amature coach they had after him, and take many bad shots....but perhaps that was the problem in it self since they dont have great shooters (hes the only one not afraid to shoot on that team) or coaches.....Maybe Rivers and Tibs may be able to get more out of the guy they can out of TA. In addition, I'm wondering if the C's brass has had enough of the offcourt stuff that was going on in chicago in addition to the injuries...seems as though the TA has a glass ankle.
Anyway...i still stand by my original thought in that this just doesnt sound right....and if it was legit, i think it would just happen.
