The thing to remember is the roster as is, is not set in stone. Therefore, the people commenting on Walker saying he would be a nice addition are saying this if we did have a few spots open (which is very possible). I'm pretty sure no one is saying he should be our major FA signing.

Hilarious. Wow, Toine love never dies... Hey, I used to love the man's spirit as well but you do realize we're going into the 09-10 season, right? Antoine is old, can't jump, was never a good shooter, was never a very smart decision maker, was never a strong defender, was always a suspect finisher, and now he's much, much, much older. Skills decline, not increase.

At this point, Scal is a better choice for teammate then Toine. AT least he plays within the system and doesn't make many mistakes.

We need a Center, a backup for Pierce, and a backup for Rondo. Not an over the hill chubster, who can't compete with PF's, is not quick enough anymore to compete with SF's, and who's always thought he was better than he actually is.

Pass.

You don't know that. He may very well re-sign for something reasonable.

Let's not complicate things. Let's sign Barnes and MyDyess and get back in the Finals.

Close. If we had re-signed James Posey and KG stayed healthy, we not only get back to the finals, we are the Champions.

Sounds like he is tailor-made for Orlando. They can have him.

McDyess would be solid, but he turned down playing for Denver to go back to Detroit. Not sure if he will want to come to Boston.

Grant Hill left Orlando to go to Phoenix, two warmer climates for his achey and old body. Not sure if Grant can handle a New England winter and not sure he wants to either, chance at a championship or not.

Rasheed seems reasonable choice, but he is demanding some 8 million annual salary.

There are 2 significant differences between Toine and Sheed, 1 being Sheed's height and length, the other being Sheed's propensity to commit silly and unnecessary technical fouls.

Both don't play down low enough, both can stretch the floor, and both are mediocre rebounders. Toine actually has a higher rebound rate despite his lack of height and length and hops compared to Sheed.

Why either players can work for us is because with a healthy KG, Perk, Pierce and Rondo, we don't require awesome rebounders. (We were 2nd this year in + Team Rebound margin) And that was with a decimated frontline, Miki Moore off the bench with Scal and undersized Powe and Baby playing hefty minutes.

For any sound business man, if you are looking at Sheed and his 8 million asking price and you don't bother to look at Toine at vet. minimum - 3 million per year, then you are not doing your job.

I saw him on Pros vs. Joes recently...I think I'd rather have any of the Joes. He's utterly done.

I have a soft spot for Antoine Walker because he was the first sign of hope for this franchise since Reggie Lewis died. That being said all i'd be willing to see him get is a camp invite and earn a spot if he can.

Forget Ricky D....how about just Walker and Marbury?

Honestly, is Ricky still in the league?

And the answer to your question is: no, because if those 3 ham and eggers were getting big minutes, we'd be in the tank.

YEAH!!!!!!

It hasn't been a proper offseason lately unless it includes dreams of bring the wiggle back to Boston. If he can play still....for cheap I'd grab him....good locker room guy.....just dont get to the lunch bar after him and Baby!

He outplayed everyone except that black Joe who kinda choked at the end, costing the Joe's team 25 grand.

Walker and D. West need official perma threads. So all the fan boys can post over and over again how they would be a great guy to bring back to the Cs. Of course we won a championship without these guys..so you got to wonder.

Guys like Posey who actually WON us a championship - or PJ Brown don't seem to get even 1/10 the love. It seems like quirky play is the key to building an incredible loyal and misguided fan base..

Honestly, for an end of the roster making the minimum you could probably do a lot worse. Shimmying could be the new ubuntu!
